Well, THIS 6309 arrived yesterday, and I'm pretty pleased with it. The bezel was unusable, so it will have an AM installed until I can locate an OEM. The crown was loose in the package, and I was worried the stem was missing, but it had just come apart. I'll give it some wrist time today, and see how accurate it's running. Just realized, I forgot to install the gasket holding ring.

The 6309/6 is still my favourite out of every single Seiko watch - I brave statement, and feel free to comment, but then take another look at the photo ! I used to get 'up tight' about a Hong Kong dial, prefering the Japan version, but more recently I have conquered my demons and learnt to accept all versions of this fantastic timepiece. You have a lovely example here. Is that one of Harold's inserts? It looks great! My one piece of 6309-OCD which remains is the non-negotiable flat-vent rubber strap - sort it out mate!

Wonderful example, you can never get too many of those. I'm with funkster, they are in a class to themselves the 6309s.

Interesting... what makes it better than say a nice 6105-8110 Miles?
Nice example Tim although I can not say I've ever been struck by that style of hand on the Seiko dive watches :-/

I was never a huge fan of the HK dials, but this one was too good a deal to pass up. And yes, I believe this is one of Harold's inserts, I forget where I got it.

Nice specimen. Who cares what the dial print is . . . I can't see it except with magnification.

I'm with Funkster on this one. The 6309 is my #1 Seiko. Design ,comfort, durability, if I had to wear one watch for the rest of my life...that would be it!

That is a nice looking example The pronounced bevel on the date window seems to go against what we've come to expect from the HK dials. Makes you wonder if there were different batches or QC differences...
