Hello, everyone. Sharing two vintage hand winders:
1. Citizen Super Deluxe. Serial number suggests it was produced in September 1963.
Movement
2. Seiko Champion. I'm not quite sure of the movement number so perhaps it's from May 1961.

Beautiful! You can see why I think that Seiko and Citizen were producing watches every bit as good as the Swiss at the time

Nice Super Deluxe!! Was that the one on Philippine eBay a week+ ago from Ramon [badingski]?? I was looking @ that one, but went with the hi-beat Seiko Presmatic instead (5146 28.8Kbph 30j variant). Would have liked to get both!! See my post on the Presmatic: wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/5762/incoming-seiko-presmatic-beat-5146You gotta love that "Specially Adjusted" gold-plated 25j movement!! Not sure if real gold plating or just colored, but reminiscent of a lot of the early '60s gold-plated movements like 6206. Or the red plated movements like on Marvel 19j reminiscent of Omega Sweephand can tell you, but I will for him --- at one time, that Super Deluxe 25j was Citizen's highest quality movement!! The (Super @ high end) Hi-line then replaced it in the line-up. I have one a step down from that, Super Ace w/ 23j ... let's see, got it somewhere on this forum already ... OK, found shots @ wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/5673/manual-wind-marathonMy other "high end" Citizen is the automatic, 39j variant of Super Jet ... have 2: see wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/4820/philippine-gems1. An "aviator" style in SS case isn't badged with "jet" but the following is.... 2. Dress version in a thick gold-filled case: Yes indeed -- Citizen made some nice stuff back then!! Right along with Seiko ... things like this (from my collection as well): and (not mine, but I have 2 with engraved dial text like below): As well as Orient!! For Domestic Market, they also made some really "competent" watches, both hand-wind and automatic:

Nice Super Deluxe - as ninja01 says this was Citizen's highest grade watch from 1958 to 1963 when the 27 jewel Super HiLine appeared. The Super Deluxe came with 23 and 25 jewel movements. My example says hello : Stephen

Talking Sixties Seiko Handwind; Ooh man, that's on my list. I've almost bid big on a few, but I just can't be sure about these. There's so much I don't know.

Thanks for the replies.
Actually, it was after reading sweephand's blog posts as well as ninja01's posts on Citizen hand winders that I decided to commit to the auction for the Super Deluxe. I'm glad to find you both here, and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
ninja01: Yes, this is the one from Ramon. I do remember seeing that Presmatic. Congratulations on that catch. By the way, I enjoyed reading your mini-reviews (in another forum) of vintage watches being auctioned on eBay Philippines. They were quite instructive for me.

Oh for some of those high end hand grinders........... Lowly examples are all I can offer. 14091 Sportsman 6602 (?) movement from 1963. I've never had the back off so can't confirm movement. I stand to be corrected. 6602-8040 from 1968 [/url] 66-7100 from 1970: 2 of 66-8050 (1 modded AKA Seikolex) from '69 and '73 And finally my one and only Citizen (Homer) from, I think, 1966.

Not high end, but significant to me. My eighth birthday present from my parents and still going strong. Gave me a love of hand winding a mechanical watch.

Talking Sixties Seiko Handwind; Nice cal. 430 GS there!! I'd tried to get one of those & several times they escaped me for various reasons. BUT, I did get this one instead ... Yeah, a real nice 430 movement!! Which was later re-labeled to 5722A. BUT, didn't get the early style casing with old style numbering ... and we have a few cosmetic problems too ... The price made up for the problems though!! US$715 shipped in late 2009, on Philippine eBay. I did make up for this one by getting a very nice 6246 "Chronometer" marked(badged) 1st Generation Automatic GS though!! Won't show that one here ... think I did put it in a couple threads in this forum already though ...

Well, thanks on your "Congrats". Glad to see you were among my "readership" in the auction review section I used to do... of course, as I always suspected ... I was creating competition for myself by doing those!! No problem though, I pretty much have all I need by now ... and a large percentage of those I want as well

Just to clarify...Ramon is 'thewatchcollector' on eBay and not 'badingski'. They are completely different sellers and as far as I'm aware not at all associated.

Well, it's a different Ramon,'badingski' is actually RAMONCITO B. (or Ramon for short)... so a different Ramon than you usually talk about, but still, a Ramon anyway. There are a lot of Ramons in the Philippines.
