Hello gang, Just perusing the auction sites and saw this King Seiko 4402-8000 for sale by "tttgroup" (item 331362487522). I like the 4402 movment, but the dial doesn't look right to me, the text looks hand lettered. I also looked around on the web and could not find another example of that particualr dial text either, with the Suwa mark below the words. Here is a good shot I found of what I think the dial text should look like: So what is your opinion, original dial or fake? - Thomas

Hmmm... Suddenly the auction was "ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." What does that usually mean? - Thomas

To answer your primary question, yeah, looks like a re-dial to me. Check out the text on the "DIASHOCK" line - doesn't quite look right to me. The dial codes look quite "wonky" to me as well!! Not the format you'd expect to see!! AND: the Suwa mark Well, who actually made the 1st Generation and the 44 calibres of KS?? My notes indicate it wasn't Suwa!! As far as "fake" ... well, a re-dial isn't necessarily a "fake", but in this case I'd say it was NOT done to original factory "standards"!! Bid accordingly!!
