So I'm doing some recon on craigslist when I spot this one for $15.00 A 2205-0541 Lady's diver with original bracelet and the spare links. My Wife has never embraced the Dive watch look but it was hard to pass up this one. There was one small problem. The watch was in Hawaii, no worries a quick PM to one of our fellow members "LongBike" he was 20mins. away from the sellers place. Wa La watch arrived my home today. A big thanks to our fellow WIS LongBike!

Kind of like my 2205. Got it on eBay (US) in early 2000s. It was quite cheap. Not as pretty as yours, but was fully functional: The white stuff on the crystal was just paint & it just peeled off. One slight "squashed" area of the bezel ring (metal outer rim) @ about 45 on the insert scale. Thought the wife would use it, but "too big!!" (she is Asian & small). So, it became part of the "safe queen" collection to match my 6105. OK, the notes say I paid US$22 + US$4 shipping back in Sept or Oct of 2001. So, congrats!! And we'll see if your wife will wear "hers" ============================================= Coincidentally, shortly before this, I got my 1 and only 6119 (a -6020) on US eBay ... it was US$20 + US$2.30 shipping!! Not bad looking, not on an original bracelet & needed a minor repair/servicing here to get it fully functional (day/date rollover & quickset was "jammed") ... was very cheap here in the Philippines having it done. So, on a replacement (but likely, "period") Twist-O-Flex & crystal may be slightly wrong type for this model, but close anyway!! Dial is quite beautiful & case is in nice shape too!!

A big thanks to our fellow WIS LongBike! Hey you got it and I was just thinking of PM'ing you to find out about it. The guy told me his daughter saw it and said to get it fixed for her, and he told me I told her its junk. I said (Hey I collect Junk ) and I came to get it and he says well like I said that's the price of it. I said ok , took it and went home packed it and took it to the Post and it was off. It was so close to me so I just went to get it. When something is found and it is in the middle of no where , and we can not get to it we have to help out. I am very glad you got it and it was no problem at all. I got on the bike and took off for it. I looked at it and it was in (Top Shape) too so it was no lost to get it. Glad you like it and enjoy it too. ( It was like Brand New also.)

I guess the ladies divers are 'cute', and when found they are usually in great shape. Women just don't hammer on their watches like us guys do. I always imagined watches like this were purchased by women on vacation in Bimini or wherever, used once for ACTUAL DIVING, then thrown in a jewelry box once they returned home. I used to buy them, but after accumulating a small drawer full...I finally stopped.

I used to buy them, but after accumulating a small drawer full...I finally stopped. Yeah, a little goes a looooonnnng way!! Kind of like collecting Advans and VANACs ... In my case though, I can almost get away with wearing one of them myself and NOT looking ridiculous. I probably look more ridiculous lugging along a "big iron" Seiko 6138 Bullhead or Big/Small ... or my 6105!! ... than I would with a 2205 Diver!! I'm "Pinoy sized" not "Kano sized" {Kano = any Westerner / Caucasian}. Most of the "dayuhan" (foreigners) here who are from Western countries (Australia & NZ included) tower over many of the "katutubo" (native born) ... and me too! They would look really ridiculous in a 2205, but me, "who doesn't take up my own postal code" as 1 of my friends put it, does OK with the small sized dress watches of "noong unang panahon" {roughly, years ago} &"nakaraan" (old, outdated, from yesteryear) women's & boy's divers. You've seen part of my Dress watch collection in other posts, '50s & '60s dress & sport watches (like Seiko 6218 & 6216) that may be considered "too small" by many current Caucasian (and even some larger Asian male) watch lovers. But, I can "carry them off" size-wise.
