I went and did it again, purchased a SKX009 this weekend, the seller states that the crown tube has been cross threaded will know for sure when I get the watch. Got it for a good price so I'm thinking about installing a triple lock crown and tube, does anyone know where I can find a kit?
If not other than purchasing a new case from chronograph.com can I get a new crown tube?

Not sure about a specific one that you are looking for but Ofrei has a whole bunch of screw down crowns: www.ofrei.com/page417.htmlA new case will run around $75 I think, for the SKX007/9. I would first check the threads though as it is possible that you can just replace the crown and be done with it. I had a Seiko Monster that had the crown screwing in only very little, I bought a new crown and it immediately was screwing in 2 1/3 turns. The crown was the problem more then the tube.

Thanks Carlo, just spoke with Spencer & Shawn, the conversion costs are more than the watch is worth new.
I will look at Ofrei, I like to experiment especially when there is nothing to lose.

I thought that myself, that having a triple lock tube and crown would not be an economical solution. However if one does it himself and can use a regular screw down crown he can surely have some fun with not much expense.
