At that price I don't think the description was even read. I think shipping was quoted at/around $8.00 so this one may win the sub-$10 contest hands down! Gold dialed Proof/Proof for less than $10.00. If only it had been a silver dial I would then feel worse! D.

I was talking to the guy about the watch. He made a error as the listing was meant to be for auction starting at 0.99p and by mistake he set it up as a buy-it-now. He will be cancelling the buyer and restarting the auction.

Yeah Like a few years ago when gas was $4.00+ a gallon and pumped about 3 minutes worth and it was only at $0.64 The nimrod had programmed the gas for $0.0429 per gallon (4.29 cents, not $4.29) I went inside and paid the proper $64.00 Why? Because I'm an honest guy - yeah right - these days every move's on camera I don't need the headache. guy inside went nuts realizing his whole pay check must've gone done the tubes with the last 20 paying customers.

I am the same. I could have got away with a few bargains over the years from shops when they didn't charge the correct price. In the UK where the guy is based it is law that we can pull out of any deal if the price we put was in error in the first place. There is an old wives tale here in the UK which states if it a price on the label that is the price you pay but that is not how it works here. The laws changed many years ago but folk still seem to think those old Victorian rules still apply.

I looked at over 100+ watches last night on eBay. I could not believe the prices, it appears that everything has gone up quite a bit (barring your 1970 6039).
In particular there seems to be many more quartz Seiko's at $200-$300 price range. These watches are getting quite pricey, I wonder why?

Vintage watches are in fashion right now so people are snatching them up in bulk. A lot of the big names have done re-releases, homages and vintage styled pieces in the last 2 years, so that's a big sign of the current flavour. When I was a kid you wouldn't get caught dead wearing an old watch. You had to have a LCD quartz. They were the big thing. You could swap an old watch for a can of coke. You also called the "Australian National Time Service" to set your time. A gentleman answered the phone and said "On the third stroke...the time will be blah blah" I looked at over 100+ watches last night on eBay.
