Described as non-working, this 'junk' piece from Japan cost less than $15. I thought it was worth the risk, since it could probably be sorted with a service which doesn't cost the earth, especially if parts aren't needed, and this 4840 model with date at 6 is not seen very often. With these movements it's always worth trying a new battery, even if the seller said a new battery didn't get it going....and lo and behold it fired up and is now keeping good time: A new crystal is on the way since this one is cracked. The hour and minute hands are interesting - they are a frame design so you can see through them - and the bold second hand is a nice highlight. Can't help but love a bargain Stephen

Nice score!
I really like the cosmotrons. I have a few in the drawer ready to rebuild one day (tm)

That's a nice looking piece, and the date a 6:00, just adds a bit more flare.

I like the symmetrical look of the dial - not enough models use it. imho The 'bullheads' are perhaps the best known that have this style, whilst here's a rare Custom V2 that also uses it: Stephen

Oh boy, that one is really sweet! The grey and blue scheme is very unusual. It is a sailing watch - i.e. the rotating inner ring has the last 10 seconds highlighted, which I think would be used as a count down to the start of a race. This is the only example I have ever seen, outside of a catalog, of this particular model. Stephen

Not seen one before. Love it! Congratulations and please accept my jealous stares as a warning not to do this to me again... another watch I 'must' now own!

Accepted Finding one is the big problem - the Custom V2 sports models seem very scarce. Here are the ones I've found so far, together with an older Seven Star Yacht Custom: Stephen
