...The People! In this case Penguin Pete and eine kleine hilfe from Spencer Klein. * I bought a beater 7002-700A for cheap a$$ money and thought - yes, a beater. NOT! I immediately started buying nos parts...dial...crown...bezel...gaskets...a type III crystal from Jonathan...flat cut hands from Yobokies. Worked out some horse trading with Peter on some parts and he serviced the heck out of it. Ran like a treat, kind of. Still seemed to be a little wacky on time keeping. After I tried some of my ham handed regulation it only worsened. Cut to recent times, Pete gets a Timegrapher so I sez..."Hey Mr. Canukistan, can you make my 7002 all that we know it can be?". And off it goes to northern latitudes. Modern testing hardware is apparently essential to figuring out what the heck is going on in a watch. After much wrangling, parts replacements, a few idea bouncing sessions against the walls of Klein Vintage Watch Restoratarium and she is winging her way back home from western Canada to the southeastern US. Kudos to the passion and dedication and professional and personal camaraderie of all parties concerned to get a deserving time piece into the shape it deserves to be and PFFFTT to all the 7002 doubters. * - Disclaimer: I've known Peter and Spencer each for some time from other fora but this is where we have all landed and I like to think of it as home.
Beautiful on the outside: Beautiful on the inside:

I'm only grateful the general population isn't aware of how fun it is to work on watches.

It's just so fun. I'm sure glad you two and all of the others who do that, do that. I'm sure it would be fun if my eyesight weren't so bad anymore, and my fingers weren't made of butter.
