Before I take the plunge and end up possibly to be dis-appointed do you guys think this is worth $45.00? Model # 6119-8095 Seller states all works fine, original bracelet that will fit 8" wrist but crystal needs buffing! Any thoughts please? Asking price is his best price shipped. TIA

I think $45 shipped is a decent price. Just take into account the cost of a new crystal plus installation.
It looks to have a very nice chocolate brown dial in great shape. The bracelet looks like it might also have come with the watch.
All cleaned up and it will be a nice watch for any occasion!

The 6119-809x case is a very common one, and came in a bunch of styles. But I have never seen that dial/hand combination before. I'd go for it! I just wore my '69 6119-8090 yesterday!

Cobrajet, weren't those 5s you have used in the Nam war by Special Services ?? Love to find one! As far as this particular model goes..I am not sure. I have never seen a 6119-8090 definitively linked to a member of MAC-V SOG. But it is certainly possible. I have no history on this particular watch, as it was dredged out of Ebay. I have another much nicer example, and when I inquired to the seller about any possible military history the watch might have I was told that it actually belonged to the seller's grandfather who was an FBI agent under J. Edgar Hoover in the 1960s. Because of the spooky nature of the MAC-V SOG watches, we never can tell exactly which models were used since these were a "sterile" issue item purchased in bulk. Personally, I think the term "military-issued" is a misnomer in this case, and confuses people when it comes to the role these watches served. It seems as though they were indeed purchased by the government for a niche military use, but were simply handed out to Special Forces personnel upon request and considered disposable rather than being "issued" US Government property in the conventional military sense of the term.

If the crystal is not cracked and is acrylic a good sanding with 400/600/1500/2000 grit paper will make it like new and will not take a long time. I like the face and hands very unusual

That's on an original bracelet and worth more than $45. Go for it.
