Sharing a recent acquisition, a Citizen Auto Dater 7 19j. Got it from local eBay for US$ 65.This has what sweephand calls the Jet rotor, runs at 18,000 bph and can be hand-wound. The date quick set works by pulling out the crown. According to Internet sources, the day can be set by winding back and forth between 12 and 9, but the one time I tried it the day wheel rolled back as well. Maybe I was doing it wrong. It was running slow when I got it, but I regulated it using a toothpick, an Android phone, and a program called WildSpectra Mobile Pro, and now it's running at around -10s/day.This piece isn't perfect, the dial and case have some issues, but I'm enjoying wearing it.

Love these Citizen Jet Autodaters. Here are my two. My Superjet Autodater 39J and my NOS Rookie Autodater which also has the Jet rotor system. 17J Were not bargain prices like your watch though congrats!

That's a beauty  I missed (chickened) out on one of these last week from Saitama. It had a Kanji day wheel and went for $180/£115. I figured another $46/£30 on top of that for Customs charges, so it was bit, er....unjustifiable.

Nice to see an autodater 7 You should be able to set the day by winding back and forth between about the 8 marker and 12 o'clock. Once the day is set you use the quick-set for the date. Is the day not setting correctly when you do that? If not you could keep winding forward to the right day, then set the date. My 25j version says hello: Stephen

Very nice.
One day the vintage Citizens will come of their own when vintage Seikos become priced out of the market for the average collector.
The crown reminds me of the first gen KS and GS.
I have only owned one vintage Citizen 7 and I bought it because it had the fancy full circle rotor for the autowind.
