HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! So I have wanted a modded watch for awhile almost bought parts to do one and then stopped because of the cost. I would need to send the watch to someone, it ends up costing more then I want to spend. I was looking at some today on the bay and found one I really liked. It would look great with my paracord band. 7002 MOD. # 231397509047

Well, that does look pretty good! And it's not too expensive. I scratch my head at the folks that mod their watch, decide they don't like it, then want you to pay for all the changes, parts and labor! - Thomas

Not this one! Why 3 weeks (15 business days) to deliver?
"Cerakote process is very tedious and laborious, this adds up to the professional refurbishing of the base Seiko Divers watch which takes one week and a half. Cerakote process is done in USA."
They just coat the case after you buy? Sounds like it.
"The watch will stop if you do not wear it."
True.
"Reserve power lasts only 6- 12 hours or less."
That is the main reason not to buy. Power reserve should be 40 hours or more. They are selling junk movements.
$175 might be a good price for a good watch. It's way too much for this one.

Seller might be worthy of staying clear of as he has a lot of expired neg feedbacks. 99% isn't a great rating for 1100 feedbacks. Only 1 is showing negative over the past 12 months but why only 99% if that is the case why not 99.9%? He's had neg feedbacks expire and removed by eBay staff or the customers. Don't know that seller and I could be totally wrong. Why not put a Wanted ad on the forums for sale section?
Good luck

Power reserve, it maybe these modded watches are not worn enough to see what the full reserve time is on them. 1 year warranty on movement, don't see that very often. Seller has one negative feedback out of 1, 119 and that is over a pair of shoes. I've looked over his feedback and he is a responsible quality seller.

Personal opinion of trying to buy a modded watch off the forums is the same as Thomas. People spend a big chunk of money on a watch. Now it is a mod with a lot of aftermarket, custom parts, mish mosh of original parts thrown together to make what is pretty are good looking and most valuable to the moder I rarely see one I would like enough to pay the high prices of modded watches. I think you can be rolling the dice just as much buying on the forums as you can ebay.

Feedback 1,555 at were at 95.6% I know how vicious and and meahspirited buyer can be on ebay, so with a grain of salt I go when looking at feedback.

Just my opinion take it or leave it your choice but I meant no disrespect to yourself. I have 2300 on my business account with 100% feedback without one being removed or a single complaint. It's possible. Personally I take a lot of notice of feedback on eBay. I do however read bad feedback and look for replies from the seller. If no valid reason was given or the seller gets angry I leave them well alone. You can normally smell a bad egg from their feedback.

Buyers are weird. I've had a spate of bad feedback lately for my tools, the latest one is just stupid "Bit expensive for a piece of plastic"...wtf? You are buying a custom low volume manufacture tool. Check out the prices of the OMEGA and ROLEX tools then tell me my tools are expensive. Not to mention I have to recoup tooling and design costs. You'll pay more for 1-2 beers on the right parts of town.
Anyway, I think the point of concern here is that the buyer says power reserve is 6-10 hours, which indicates it has an unserviced movement in the piece, which would make me very wary. If you did go for it, budget in a service and get them to send you a shot with the caseback off so you know for sure what you're getting.

I would never buy a MOD'd watch off of Ebay.
Even if the seller is in the US they most likely bought it from Loy or some other Philippines puppy mill and now are trying to unload it after it stopped working properly after a day or 2 to some new unsuspecting soul on Ebay.
While I have seen soem MOD'd watches that I said "I like that one" there are 10 times more that I ask "Why did they do that?"
Just like customizing a car or painting your Chevy Caprice orange and jackign it up with 28" rims and putting Sunkist Orange Soda logos on it.
To each his own.
If you buy an already MOD'd watch you have no connection to it's creation.
Now if you pick your parts, get a watch, and then MOD it yourself (are have it done like I don cuz I don't have the patience to do it myself) you will have a personal connection to the watch.
