7s26 watches have crowns at 4:00? Before you say none, remember these S-Waves. Were there any others?

You mean the date? Most 7s26's have the crown at 4 If you have one look at an SKX007/009/011 and you will see that the crown is not centered at the number 4 like the watch in the OP.

Good point. And you're right, i just looked at the one on my wrist now. But generally we've referred to that as a 4 o'clock crown in the past. You mean the date? Most 7s26's have the crown at 4 If you have one look at an SKX007/009/011 and you will see that the crown is not centered at the number 4 like the watch in the OP.

AMF refers to the time when Harley Davidson was owned by the bowling equipment manufacturer. Terrible QC that almost killed the Motor Company. It was saved when a group of managers bought it back from AMF.

That was a time when you could almost be guaranteed the bike would break down withing sight of the show room floor

I worked for an industrial supplier of filters that was bought by AMF 30 years ago. All they did was restructure the company so the inside joke was AMF stood for "Always Moving Furniture".
AMF made Sailfish boats, bowling equipment, motorcycles, filters, you name it. The parent company bought good American companies and just sucked the cash flow out of the profits until they teetered on collapse and found ways to flip the various business units. In my case when they finally sold out is when slow regrowth began and now it's very profitable.

Those AMF Harleys were rather derisively known as "bowling balls." I had one and it was the least of my three Harleys in many ways.

HD bought part interest in 1960 but AMF bought out the full interest in 1974. This was the period where HD motorcycles were absolute junk. The Aermacchi did nothing to aleviate this image. Like most things automotive from Italy, the Aermacchi was a two wheeled version of a mechanic's nightmare. The motorcycle shop I worked at took on the line but dropped it after only two months of the worst customer complaints the shop had ever experienced; and we sold British bikes like Triumph and BSA!
