When I purchased my SXK009 the original owner said the movement was regulated. I did not hold much value in this due to the purchase price of these watches new and I had another 7s26 movement which kept good time. I just checked the movement again in two days of wearing it inconsistently it is running -7 seconds to time.gov. To me this is truly amazing a watch I purchased for $50.00 is running better than chronometer standards (between 70 and 35 degrees F)

I have a $60 SNK military watch that runs at around +6 seconds per day and I never had it adjusted at all. I think that the 7S26 is capable of really good accuracy but Seiko generally doesn't regulate the 7S26 movements from the factory in order to differentiate their price points. The quality control isn't as stringent on the 7S26 movements as well if I recall correctly so I guess it is also slightly based upon luck as to the potential of each individual movement.
