Thanks to Steveo, I now have a Windsurfer. He knew I was looking, and was generous enough to send me his spare. Thank you, Steveo...it is much appreciated!

I have one of these, and like yours mine could also do with a new crystal. I searched as best I could but drew a blank - if you have better luck please let me know.
They are a great watch and have a very loud beep.
Thanks.

This forum is a great place filled with great folks.

Is there anything special about the crystal, can it be measured and replaced with a generic?
nice watch looks like I would need instructions, what does the bar graph do?

I too have been the recipient of some nice gifts from fellow members and today was no exception. I just received a great condition Seiko 6309-7040 bezel and a set of hands minus the seconds hand which I already have! These came to me from Louis aka longbike. Thanks VERY much as they will get put to good use! 7dfe79adc2f0

The tachy ring is on the underside of the crystal (as a sticker/transfer). The crystal is quite thick (iirc - between 2.5mm and 3mm). Someone on another forum suggested trying to make a tachy ring and stick it onto a generic crystal but I don't think I could do this, or cut it out neatly enough to be happy with it.

You can polish the crystal, I have done it before with my dremel and am now experimenting with using my polishing machine. I use 220/400/600/1000/2000 wet dry sandpaper, it is not perfect but believe that once I get a better base on my hand polishing machine it will be pretty good.

You might consider finishing off the polishing with some cerium oxide. It produces some very good results.

Damn, that thing looks BEAT!!! lol.. glad it made it there safely. I didn't know the crystal had a sticker tachy ring on it(!!) I was thinking you could easily fit another glass to it. Oh well, guess that makes things a bit difficult.
