I admit I'm not a fan of the vintage Seiko chronographs nor their prices but that one looks like an easy fix.

Tony,
I put a coke on it those spots are on the crystal and not the dial.
Well done on that catch!
And yer, that black ring/yellow dial seems to be an Australian native. I came up with the smoking gun evidence that it is legit, which is the photo of my dad wearing one in 1978 that was purchased from a high street jeweller here.

The blue proof turned up this morning.... num nums! Going outside and chucking the customers clocks to one side for two days while I give it a service. Adrian that's very cool! I've seen a catalogue from the Australian market with a black rotating bezel on a yellow 6139-6000 series watch. I'll have to remember where I saw it and post it on the forum. I think I posted a link on scwf for it but don't hold me to that!

Nice pickup Tony and looks like a legit aussie one with the Chronograph text below the applied logo and the stelux bracelet. Just as you do I bet it's untouched.

Nice! I always avoided the black ring one on my search in fear that it was aftermarket. But there you go, it wasn't after all!! damn the internet and its lies.

Nice. I wondered where that disappeared to .... Yeah sorry I don't do auctions and the guy was open to a sensible offer. I didn't steal it that's for sure I offed a fair price that I reckon it might not have reached had I let the auction run but I was ok paying for this less common model. I am sorry if it was one you had your eye on. Nice! I always avoided the black ring one on my search in fear that it was aftermarket. But there you go, it wasn't after all!! damn the internet and its lies. Yo George! I'd say your in the perfect place to pick up this model. In fact I see some really nice watches coming out from your neck of the woods. The thing is there are lash up's available that are made up out of spare parts but when a watch looks as untouched as the one I've just brought, chances are it's the real deal. Plus I can see it still has it's original brushed metal finish and not just spun in the lathe with some sandpaper.

and here it is -------> I've repolished the crystal and am happy to report its 'R' dial is pretty much about as good as you are likely to find them. Very happy with this little buy indeed.
