On further inspection, the pivot looks weird. I think a hackjob has done something to it previously. I reckon the pivot has snapped and they've done something weird with forming a new one. The pivot shouldn't have a flat top I have seen a lot of that recently, nothing surprises me anymore

It's been repivoted. A common repair for clocks. What they have done is drilled out a bit of pivot steel and slipped it over the original. Probably glued in place hence the rust reaction. Measure the diameter of the arbor and compare it to a prefect one... It is wearing a metal splint

That's what I thought. Dunno why you'd go to that effort for a $10 part...idiots. This watch is a mess, the barrel was glued together and there's some pretty funky home made batons on the dial!
