Hi Gents ... I was breaking down a 7546-6060 after I pulled the movement for a project (which didn't work) I tried to just push out the crystal out and it shattered, just wondering if there is a crystal retaining ring, it looks like there is but I cannot pry it off. If there isn't one how is the chapter ring removed. Is the chapter ring the same as a 6309 case? thanks for any insight ... Best, Ross

These have the most complicated crystal system I've ever seen.
The whole crystal / bezel comes out of the case in a unit, pressed out from inside. Then the crystal is pushed out backwards, pushing out the retaining ring that is holding it in place.
To install, it's the reverse. Take the bezel, put the crystal seal in place, put the crystal in place, push in the crystal ring underneath it, press the whole unit into the nylon ring in the case. It's a PITA and really counter-intuitive.
If you don't want or need that case, I would love to get my hands on it. If you need a running movement, I have them. Also, if you need a new crystal, I have a line on them.

I've done a 6040 and can confirm what seikoholic says.......they are a pig! Thankfully I had access to a fitment manual or I'd have been totally baffled!
And do not damage the crystal seal, nylon 'crystal ring holder' or chapter ring retainer.......they are totally unobtainable!
