Citizen Diver. In need of a bit of TLC - do you reckon it's possible to get the black gunge off the indices edges?

It was just serendipity that the date in the photo is correct. Remembering those who fell today at Pearl Harbor 73 years ago. PB080147 by vinylgreek, on Flickr

new strap on the MM instead of on the Alpinist... lLooks like you need to screw down that crown! Don't need no moisture inside that beauty!

I'll be putting this on for probably the last time before packaging it up for a long journey to the opposite side of the globe. It is going 'down under' to a guy who knows value and good watches. I'll miss it but know the gentleman who is getting it is not a flipper and wouldn't have been interested in it if he did not have a special place in his wheel barrow for it

hehehe! yeah bad habit now leaving the crown open and as well with the Alpinist. I alternate watches so often and wind those up that I get lazy and leave the crown open ....me bad!

Not so bad actually. There isn't really any more danger of leaving a screw down crown unscrewed than there is with a non screw down crown. Whatever might snap one off will do the same to the other. That is why when you go looking for parts; it is always the stem that is first to be out of stock or obsolete. I tend to leave my divers with mediocre threading, unscrewed. Saves the threads and I don't wear them long enough to be endangered.
