After almost giving up all hopes of finding an OEM 6309-7049 dial to be able to refurbish mine back to original........look what came today!! Not only is the dial and hands almost mint and perhaps one of the nicest I have seen even retaining the nice RED text it also came with a recently serviced movement!
Now all I need to do is take the case to my watch guy and have him remove the 6105 bezel from mine and I can get her all assembled! I am a happy camper! 7dfe79adc2f0

Get everything else done, before you bring it in. That way, you'll know if he needs to assist with anything else. Looks great, can't wait to see it back together.

The only thing I'm not quite fully satisfied with is the bezel insert I have! It looks really good but the bezel pip is dingy looking! I may just buy one of Harolds and replace it with is! Its gonna look super when all together!

I'll likely leave as is for the present. What I am going to be looking for however is a sweet NATO to put on it. Right now it resides an a nice solid link S/S which is nice but the NATOs have really grown on me as of late. Before I wouldnt touch a NATO and much rather preferred a ZULU but the hardware on ZULUs is too bulky for my tastes.

I can only tell the difference between it and a known OEM one by using my loupe and calipers; it's that close.

This is the one I have in it now! Other then the pip lume looking aged/patina or whatever you call it, it looks pretty good. I hear that Harolds are almost impossible to tell apart from OEM Edited to add" I think Harolds are so very slightly over the size diameter wise then OEMs

That's a great insert you have there Timewatcher. Many a forum member would swap out their AM insert for that one. Harold's inserts are great (I have one in my AM-filled 6309 7040) but the one area they don't match the original is in the slant. They're flat and they sit up higher than the crystal while the original slopes down to meet the crystal. It does make a difference.
Now I've seen pictures of someone slanting an insert with a crystal press, but if it were easy and generally successful then we'd all be doing it.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but not perfect.
