what color and kind of band (leather) would look good with my new watch? The S/S one it came with is hair puller and I dont much care for it! I am thinking along the lines of a Burgandy colored lizard band? TIA

With light color dials I go with a black strap with darker dials I like brown. This applies to stainless cases with gold cases i like both brown and black straps

First off a textured black against the cream dial and blued hands is a classic. You gotta be careful with the burgandy straps to get the exact right hue or they can look anywhere from a little "off" to purely awful. That said, if you nail the right brown/burgandy hue to set off the cream it could be spectacular.
Again I'd start with a textured black and go from there.

I'd go with a medium brown.

I'd shave my arm. That looks perfect as it is.

I'd shave my arm. That looks perfect as it is. I have been known to lightly shave around my wrist to ameliorate the conditions for certain watch mountings. There. I said it. In public.

I'd shave my arm. That looks perfect as it is. Tony's spot on. Keep it on the bracelet for a while anyway...might help keep a good vibe given it is a lovely present from your wife.
