I just saw this one and thought the case and crown looks just like some the Feiko SKX007's (except for the bezel) like he one I had gotten scammed on once. There are a lot of "homage" companies like Parnis and others that sell Parnis branded Big Pilot homage watches out the front door and knockoff IWC branded Bid Pilot watches out the back door. I wonder if this was the case with this outfit or if the design similarities is just coincidental. I remember back int eh old Netwrok54 days Shawn Taylor got a Feiko SKX007 with a Sandoz ETA movement. Unfortunately my Feiko SKX007 I bought had a no name no jewel Chinese knockoff of a Miyota movement.

I don't know if S-T is a Swiss company or a Chinese one.
The S&T watches nearly always have Swiss Eta movements in them. My guess is that S&T made homages to the Seiko equivalents at the time(S&T seem to have disappeared).
Apart from the obvious 'knock off' aesthetics, I would think that these watches; at least the movements were as good as or better than what Seiko was offering at the time.
These might be collectibles...

That one is an ETA clone! That's entirely possible but it's impossible to tell from the pics.

The case parts, especially the crown and rotating ring, look like they were made in a high school shop class. The dial looks as though it was made in a high school print making class. Other than that, I like it!

Interesting find Josh.
With respect to being a Seiko SKX007 Homage, it sure is ! Turnabout is fair play I guess considering the vast number of Rolex Datejust and DayDate Homages Seiko has pumped out over the years. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
The movement looks exactly like an ETA 2824 or 2892 to my eyes, but I not an expert. The practice of adding custom engraved rotors to an ETA movement is commonplace. You can actually see the ETA Logo stamped onto the bridge just below the balance wheel. You can also see the 28XX-X engraving but the photo just isn't sharp enough for me to make it out. S&T calls it a Swiss Movement. This thing is LEGIT !
ETA makes each movement in 5 different grades of manufacture. The top class is always COSC although not usually run into the process to carry the chronometer rating, but easily -4/+6 spd performance level. Most smaller watch houses buy the middle grades. I had a chrono grade Raymond Weil that ran +2 sec/day but was not COSC certified.

Solvil et Titus is still pretty much present in the market in Hong Kong and I see them mostly sold in CityChain stores alongside Citizen, Seiko, and reputable Chinese brands Cyma and Seagull. AFAIK they have movements that range from Chinese to ETA depending on price point. I see them as a value for money brand based on the movement, design and price they sell.
That one to me looks like a legit homage to the 7002 produced probably in the same period...

Hi. Solvil et Titus have been around since 1892 as a family owned company but sold the Titus name and Asian operations to a Hong Kong company in the late 70's. Most of their watches are still made in La Chaux -de-Fonds. The family kept the Euorpean operations and market their watches under the Ebel brand. Titus only sell watch parts to their POS partners so the chop shops rely on Seiko Crowns, Hands and Bezel inserts when they produce stuff like the watch pictured. The watch in question was a much better item than its Seiko equivalent at the time. (and much, much more expensive). There really isn't much going for a 7002 when compared to a 2824. Handwinding auto, quickset date, accuracy, finish. It is of course a Rolex homage and not a Seiko homage. At the time there would have been little Swiss Gnomes jumping off cliffs if the horological fraternity thought they were imitating Japanese. The watch pictured has had a very hard life (perhaps within the jockstrap of a coolie) but was produced before the Chinese eta knockoffs were around. An earlier version of this watch was posted by me on our WRUW a couple of weeks ago so here it is again. They are about 3mm bigger than a 7002. Cheers Phil

Yeah. That's another one that has been butchered.People won't buy them when they are like that because you can't get the parts to make them look like they should. The one pictured has a movement in it worth fifty bucks even dead. To get a look at a good one look at the one I posted a pic of, it's in the same class as that Omega you post pictures of quite often . The seventies Panther models are also a good watch but can be picked up quite cheaply if you are careful. Cheers Phil
