I was looking for something in a box this morning and found out I did not finish my " Lottery TST Bronze Shroud-Case " yet. It was still in a little Box so I went to fool around with it. The Shroud has to be polished, and I had a all original ....6309-7040 Movement on the side, waiting for a case, so I dropped it in and looked at it. The insert has to be replaced and the Crystal also. So I put it together to see what I have. I have everything except the Insert to replace. The hands and Dial I had from a rebuilt parts watch and are originals also. But I used my BFK Bracelet to just see what I have now. Maybe a nice .... Shark Mesh or some thing else might do. I ran out of Bracelets also. But might get with another case and a Stainless Shroud later on. Maybe I can find a used Shroud or get one more or make one here. Aloha

Looks promising. I like it a lot... Thanks mariod, but eventually I like to make one with the Stainless Shroud. I need the .... Spec's on the one people have now to be exact on it. I made a couple here on my old Doogie, and they look quite good too, but the original Spec's will do better. It does not take that much time to make some thing like that. I have a friend here that own's his Machine Shop and I can get all the scraps I want also. Because I build his ..... " Sand Dragster " and Maintain it, and always help him with lots of things. The prices people offer and the prices payed is terrible. I know how much time things take to make I am.... " Qualified Machinist " too. My other friend does ... " LASER WELDING " also so nothing is impossible. I am working on making a nice big case along with my friend that does that ..." 3 D stuff now ", so it is only a matter of time and a little learning from him and his help. I made him and gave him a ... " 6309-7290 ", and he loves it too and uses it a lot. I have been thinking as .... " Tony Cockroach " , said make links and even Bracelets also and other things to save money and others can benefit also.

Luis, You could paint the bronze shroud like I did... NO-OOO!!! Please leave the bronze natural. Let it develop a patina. If you don't like that, then there is time for paint or Cerakote.

Mikeyt : The main problem with Bronze and like material's they ... " TARNISH " to fast. But I like the Stainless also. Maybe one of each, or a couple more. I have ( Four old Aqualands that are the coated old Black ones here to fix yet. Thats why I need the ( 3 ) Circuit Boards for them so they wont fail when they are fixed. I got them real cheap to from a guy on the Bay. All he wanted was .. " Money for them, so I bought them " .

That tarnish is the patina that I spoke of. There are now a lot of bronze and brass cased watches on the market, mostly from micro brands. See these.

Cerekote or any other kind of deposition will be a lot more than durable than paint. I just used paint to see how it would look and I liked it. There is also that blackening stuff that's used on guns; kind of a metal stain that would give the look of aging without the build up of patina. Not sure how well it would work on bronze but a gunmaker could tell you what is the best.

That's right Peter , friend here does that with his .... Gun Shop. He does them on rifles, pistol's and all kinds of stuff , have to as him. If it is possible then maybe a Stainless one for later. Cerekote is very durable also and it works fine from what I see.

I say embrace the patina. It can make your TST really unique. Fans of brass or bronze watches use all sorts of techniques to get just the right look. If you don't like the way it's tarnishing you just have to remove the shroud and give it a good polish every now and then.
Any chance of complimenting the brass shroud with a different coloured bezel insert? Blue or dark green?

Does TigerUK sell them this way, or was this material just an experiment of his? Me likey. As I was told he was just experimenting to make different concepts of the ... " TST Shrouds " with various materials and he was successful in getting them made and then presented as a gift. So he offered this one up for the prize for the winner of the guessing number for the ..... " UK Lottery ". That was a great offer to have been made, considering the time that was involved to make them. As a Machinist and as others are also .... Enthusiast's in multiple areas, he challenged the making of it with using ..... " Bronze Material ". As he stated it was ...... ( One of only Three He Made ), so He has ....( Number -1, I have Number - 2 ..... ( But .... Number (3)- Three was sold ).
Being that I had won it I think it is only right that I keep it for a while. I have to give him the respect of being a Innovator in his area also.
Its not about being special, but like ( Mr. Murray stated it is Unique ), until maybe others are made by someone else. It has something attached to it that would make it unique as it is ... " One particular piece of its kind ". What I like about having it is ....... " I never won anything to do with Watch Collecting Before ", but now I do have something related to that and I am proud of my having it too. I could eventually find another case and Shroud to make another watch later or make them myself here but that can be done later on. Sir, I see no harm in your inquiring of him if he would offer you his services for having them made for you. Aloha LongBike Louis

Any chance of complimenting the brass shroud with a different coloured bezel insert? Blue or dark green? Aloha Sir, tritto I would say it is very much possible to do that also and it might give it a different effect or character. I would try that but I don't have a vast array of inserts at this time to do so. I was thinking of some thing else that might match it, but at hand I only have Seiko inserts. I was going to put the maybe a different dial in it, but have not decide which one yet, so I put a all ..... Original 6309-7040 movement into it for now because I need a couple more 7040 cases yet. Everyone has the Quartz Dial and Movements but I like uniqueness a lot and always have been like that. I guess being a Innovator myself that is probably why. But who knows what comes around that eventually can be used. Thank you Sir for your recommendations and inquiring to this and it has potential toward it also I would say. Aloha Sir, Louis LongBike

I really like the bronze, I agree with leaving it as is. It will look fantastic in a few years.
