I like vintage chronos, but haven't come across too many modern models that I'm fond of. How about you, what is your favorite Seiko chrono from the past 10 years?

This one... although I no longer own it How could you get rid of that? It was a moment of stupidity, I know I'm not always good at making equitable trades At least it went to a good home where it is surrounded by a lot of other issued watches.

Spacewalk is pretty good: ... but it's just too big. So I'd have to go with the SD Chrono SBGC001:

So I'd have to go with the SD Chrono SBGC001: I just think the pushers are way too big and unbalance the whole thing. There are some other high end chronos that I like but can't quickly find.

SNDA57: I have the IP version of this which I like very much: I also have a SSC021 solar chrono which is also very nice:

SBPP001: I like this one, and I'd like it even more if it had a 12-hour chronograph movement. I'd find it more useful than the alarm, and it would be more in keeping with the Speedmaster theme. SNDA57: This one's great, too. Wish they had painted the time-of-day hands one color, and the chronograph hands another. That said, I'll probably buy one of these at some point.

Not Seiko's but Pulsar has a lot of new chronographs out. For some reason this one appeals to me. Some others

SDGZ013 I just learned about this one recently.... I want it bad... really bad... I've got a watch fund getting ready for a vintage Omega Mark II but this one is putting it in danger! I mean just look at it!!!

I mean just look at it!!! The unnecessarily protruding chrono pushers would be a deal breaker for me. At least the minute hand hits the minute track along with the center seconds hand.

To me it looks like a very modern take on the classic 6138 Panda... and the chunky pushers add to the appeal.

SDGZ013 Lovely ¥ 196,500 :*( Spendy, for sure. You can have your pick of 7750-based chronos for less than that, but I don't know that they'll be nearly as nice.

SDGZ013 Lovely ¥ 196,500 :*( Seiya has them for under $1900USD shipped. That's quite a bit less than a MM, and I think this is a cooler watch. Nobody else really sells an in-house automatic chrono for under $2k anymore. Personally, I hope Seiko does more of this. And I hope they continue incorporating some of the wonderful design elements from their classic models, like they did with the SDGZ013. This particular model is limited to 500 pieces, but they don't seem to be flying off the shelves. Though I wish they were a little smaller, the pushers don't bother me (they are not near as big as the ones on the GS chronos). But I am a little annoyed by the inclusion of a jeweled crown. These always looked tacky to me. And I wish they would have just went ahead and made this a true tri-compax layout...with all the subdials matching. The one anemic looking silver running seconds dial stuck off to the side looks odd. It throws off the balance of the dial. If Seiko put on smaller, less obvious pushers (like on the original 6138-8020), ditched the jeweled crown, and made all three subdials match I could justify the $1900 and I WOULD OWN ONE OF THESE.
I like it that much!
