Anyone jumping on the MM300 SBDX012 pre- order boat.? $2600, 1000 units. Assuming it will go fairly fast. Seems like money in the bank, yet I'm still on the fence.

I'd love to, but far too poor. Other than the dial text and the second hand, is there any difference between the SBDX012 and the SBDX003?

The gold accents, that make it look more like the 6159.

I'd only buy one if they put that stupid Prospex X logo on the dial

Mr. BWool from Hong Kong, watchrecon. There's also some ebay stores, but at a premium.

Looks hot but I pretty much never have that kind of cash. The most expensive watch I've ever purchased was my LIMITED 50th ANNIVERSARY SARZ047
Seriously guys, quit with the limited 50th anniversary crap. Dredge out some old designs, modernise them without bastardising them, release and quit the limited rubbish.

I prefer the SDBX003, without the gold bezel and with the cleaner dial: These come up often enough that I'll pass on the SBDX012:

Supply and demand...price just shot up to $2995. The 003 is without a doubt the nicer looking option.

I think I'd go for the 012 - I prefer the dial text layout on the 003, but I prefer the second hand and bezel on the 012.
Though to be fair, if I got either as a gift I'd be happy as a pig in shit!

I usually don't care much for Seiko's "parts bin limited editions", and this one is no exception.
Even at $2600, these are ALL going to be safe queens. And 2600 bones is too much for a safe queen. I'd rather buy a standard MM for 1/3 less, slap it on my wrist, and beat the hell out of it for the next 20 years!

I was on the fence about getting one, and if I did it would take the exact spot of my MM300.

None of these limited editions seem to get worn, so the supply of them in new condition doesn't really change from release day to the eventual sale day of those who purchased them on release day. I would not rush out and buy one because I know within a few years somebody will be willing to let their "safe queen" go. Maybe they will make a couple bucks. Most likely they won't. There are 1000 SBDX012s now, all in mint condition. I'll bet in 5-10 years, there will still be 1000...all in mint condition. I have never seen an SBDX003 in any condition other than "mint with box and papers"!
If you plan on buying one of these and wearing it, well...that's awesome!

Love the MM 300s but just don't have a robust enough budget.
