I sometimes despair over some of the statements by ebay sellers on their watch FS listings. Wouldn't take much to gain some knowledge by reading the owner's manual or searching same online if missing the printed manual. JMHO. (This description accompanied an ebay auction of a Citizen Eco-Drive.):
"This auction is for a very nice, well kept, shiny men's stainless steel Citizen's Eco Drive watch. I believe there's no battery but I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not but it works for a while and then, maybe because I keep it in a dark room more often than not, it stops. Maybe I need to keep it always in the light. Not sure if that's the problem or there is a battery but I don't want to open it up. It may be a quick and easy fix. So this is a great buy because I priced it low. It won't last long so good luck bidding. Bid with confidence. I am a long-time eBay member with 100% positive feedback. Thanks for checking out my auction!"

My favourite is "just needs a new battery!" in the description for a watch with "AUTOMATIC" printed prominently on the dial.

My favourite is "just needs a new battery!" in the description for a watch with "AUTOMATIC" printed prominently on the dial. Or this one : I tried to wind it up but it wont start up. ( And also the watch says Automatic on it too.) But I have Seen one, and I heard it suppose to be shaken about ... 20-40 seconds to start it going. ) ( looking at the Posting and it is stating ...... " The watch is a old wind up one ". )
Seen this also: I opened it up and looked inside did not want to mess it up, But I removed the ..... " 3/4 Moon thing, closed it back up, but I shook it for a while and it don't want to run, and there is a .... ( Thinger that has a round spring looking like coils ).
Also this one I was told: I got it, Estate Find, did not want to mess with it, so it goes as it is....... " I think it is some kind of a Watch ".
Bet those guys collect batteries as a hobby and own ....... " Jumper Cables " , by the dozens.

There is just no end of WIS (or non-WIS) humor on the bay.

And more "endearing" ebay antics, this one on a Pulsar solar:
"I got this watch about 15 years ago and it was great. Very stylish and reliable, used for special occasions. I misplaced the watch and only found it recently. I suspect the battery died and even though there is a utube video showing a guy replace the battery in 5 minutes I think that's above my pay grade. Selling it as is. Good luck. Posted with eBay Mobile"
