So, thanks to Tim I picked up a Spork a few months ago. It came on a non-standard flat vent (at least it was Seiko issue) but I finally got one of these into the watch box. I haven't been wearing it as often as I'd like for a couple of reasons. It's original owner (not Tim who was merely a middleman) wasn't too careful with this watch, and the later generation balance was sort of funky. Low amplitudes, hovering in the 180 range. I have a hard time wearing a watch that's not happy but didn't have time to go through the whole movement. I did some basic checking and then in a fit of inspiration (or frustration) I swapped out the balance assembly with one from a near-new 7S26A movement. They're a drop-in exchange. BAM. Problem solved, amplitudes in the 240 range easily. So that was fixed. So the next thing that was bugging me was that the watch was on that flat vent. I didn't really think the stock strap would be how I'd want to go, so I started thinking about a stock bracelet. Now, finding a stock anything for a Spork isn't easy, or cheap. But that's where Bob / Chevelle stepped in. He found out through some conversations with COSERV that they had the stock bracelets available, for $50.07 plus shipping. One call to a harried COSERV guy, and my bracelet was on it's way.
It showed up today - I'm not used to wearing such beefy hardware. Damn. The balance and proportions are excellent however. The watch and bracelet together work very well. The entire thing has standard taper / head proportions of earlier era Seiko watches but on steroids. Beefy, thick, heavy. The look is great - time will tell if the package is a keeper. But until then, the Spork is on Seiko stainless! Thanks Tim and Bob for your help.

I'm glad you finally got the bracelet, it is an amazing combination IMO. As much as I like the looks of the Chronissimo Di Modell strap, it's definitely more comfortable on the stock bracelet.

I can't say that I've ever really been a fan of the Spork but I've only ever glanced at a couple on rubber straps.
Seeing this one on a heavy bracelet has just about converted me. It looks superb. I want it !

Great combo mate, the bracelet is pure killer, it looks the absolute boobies, the same as the BFK . . . it was one of the key deciding factors in my purchasing mine back in '08. chinathumbsup.gif

Looks great Spencer . . . congrats! Glad I could be of some humble assistance.
Now if I can just get them to give me an answer on the bezel!

Congrats on finding the bracelet!
I for one think the Spork really shines on the original bracelet. As you mentioned it is a beast on the wrist. I've tried mine on the original rubber (which I also like) and on several NATOs but the bracelet really works best for me. It's meaty, well made and is ups the "manly-manly-ness" (if there's such a term) of the watch LOL.

I considered a NATO, I have several at 20mm that aren't doing anything, but the balance would be all wonky. Too much weight on too little strap. The heft of the bracelet works with the size of the watch head, so it all works together. I'm also always a fan of a taper arrangement and while this is a monster version, it's still a taper with the correct proportions. Anyway, it must be somewhat OK as I'm wearing it right now.

Yep, steel is the way to go. And $50 is an incredible price considering the aftermarket stuff costs even more.
Stock strap is actually pretty good, but I still prefer the BFK on steel. Shame I didn't like the Spork much.
