On a side note I am convinced that all this vintage Swiss patina we are seeing is being created and faked somehow. I'm convinced of it - no proof yet but it will come out and blow up the vintage Rolex/Omega/etc market. I've been looking at 5513s and 1675s for maybe a year now, and I have to tell you after Seikos it is downright maddening - just about every single watch is a franken of some kind. Hands replaced and/or filled with color-matched non-luminous material, replacement inserts, artificially patinated replacement dials, etc... Polished cases are so common people talk about the *degree* of polishing (e.g. 'fat lugs!!!'). Every listing talking about 'matching hands', 'period correct' inserts, etc... Very few saying what if anything is original to the watch. It's pretty much turned me off Rolex entirely.

Yep, Heure's the same and the prices are just going crazy! $250-$300 for a crystal, $500-$600 for a buckle and lets not mention $1000 for a box!!! I have been looking at Tudors (9411/9401) as they seem less messed with and still carry the mystique of a Rolex did i just say that out loud! But even they are starting to carry the signs of "work" but then something like this comes along….and it all seems worth it.

Buy the seller, not the watch!

About a $100 and I didn't have to spend 10 years pearl diving or working on an oil rig Rob. ps. I really like the watch in the op. But it would only be worth $580 to me if all the weathering was original and on my wrist for a decade, that would mean that the watch has been with me thru a lot and would fall into sentimental value.

I love the story they told in the item description, some definitely felt adventurous when bidding. All in all, I think it's a great looking mod. I'd never pay that price, but I can understand why someone would.
