I finally got the dial back from the restorer and put the watch together last night. I have two more things to do: (1) I need to "bend" the crown tube it appears to be out of alignment causing the movement to move up when the stem is inserted, I will do this tonight. (2) The second problem is a common one to these watches and still have not found a replacement. The date advance gear no longer advances the date wheel. Anyway here are some the pictures and one after:

That one looks pretty good.
Do you have a straight on shot of the dial?
I am wondering how small they got the text at 6 o'clock.

Thank you all. The font at the bottom is bigger then the original but I have had this dial done twice and it must be difficult to have a font that small and also follow the diameter of the dial. Kirk Rich Dial Corp did the dial www.KRDialCo.com, it took about 3 months to complete Wuischpard & Son restored the case and plated with 18k www.watchcaserepair.com/ about 2 months here Now it looks like I have to replace the crown tube it was creating a stress on the stem causing the movement to lift on the opposite side with a knock-on effect of stopping the minute hand. I may get the movement serviced as I do not know the history but it runs like a top. Attachments:

The watch is beautiful. I can appreciate the watch itself being high beat and all but I believe what I really appreciate is the fact that you guys can see the diamond in the rough... have a vision of how a worn watch can look and know the resources to get it do. I really applaud that. I think my favorite aspect of the watch is the hands.

I got a question, what can be done if the hour/minute hand do not advance. I checked the movement and it does not appear that this cannon pinon needs to be staked it appears to be gear driven, where else should I look?
Thanks

Thanks Do you mean when the watch is running or when you try setting the hands by the crown? Cannon pinions are gear driven but if the barrel is not properly staked, there will be slippage.

Yes when the watch is running, the reason I ask if the minute cannon pinion needs to be staked is it fits very loosely and the minute hand will sometimes move. I just want confirmation before I stake it that this is what needs to be done for this movement (5625) A second question I have the date advance arm off the movement and the plastic gear appears to be cracked I would like to remove it an attempt to glue it but I cannot determine how to move the flex-washer. Thank you

You could check out Seikoholics (http://seikoholics.yuku.com/forums/71) and look for one of Randall's articles in which he made a metal replacement gear. I don't remember if the pictures were that detailed but maybe you will get a clue from there. I have a couple of 56xx watches but they have monocoque cases and I don't have a crystal lift to go looking inside
