That seller seems to be somewhat controversial, proceed with great caution.

There was a lot of chatter about this guy last week on ( TOF), when I peeked there. Some thing about the Dial's and some other things a couple of watch's had. They were very hot about it, and a Member got ..." BURNT BY HIM ".

I don't know....if the Ebay feedback system means anything....he's got a 99.3% positive rating after 8054 transactions.
He has four negative feedbacks....that means he's got 8050 positive ones...i.e., happy customers.
That's a lot of happy customers it would seem.
The numbers say he's probably "OK"....just sayin'.

The numbers say he's probably "OK"....just sayin'. ePrey f/b means very little in some cases. Just do the research and you'll find that this clown is a master cobbler. Part of the reason his f/b isn't worse is that most of his customers have no clue what they are buying and remain oblivious to the fact they have overpaid for parts watches. Here is a link for some reading and it's from a single forum! www.network54.com/Forum/78440/search?searchterm=sophon_l&sort=match

That seems to adequately answer the OP's query. He ignores it at his peril.

I see this when I look at that watch.
Hands - repainted Case - spun in lathe with sanding paper not the correct lapping machine/flapper wheel finish. Bracelet - After market/later Seiko clasp. Dial - Relumed.
Looks like beejoo4 (uk seller to avoild like the plague) has competition in the aftermarket crap stakes. He also goes by the name of retroo1 to get around paying taxes no doubt.

Dial/indicator ring looks good, but I wouldn't count on the movement being in good condition.
If the price is reasonable (which it isn't), I'd buy it for the dial/hands/indicator ring, stick it in a better case and fix/replace the movement.
That said unless you can do that yourself you're up for a big bill.
I've bought stuff from this seller numerous times before, but only batches of junk. Had no issues. I think this auction is a bit misrepresented however.

If you think about buying 6138-8020 Endpieces from him - don't. They do not fit.
But I also gave him a positive feedback. Shipping was fast, return was easy. He refunded the money 5 minutes after I gave him the tracking number of the return.

Is that a genuine Seiko dial? Looks like the M droops a bit?

Ouch!!!.. I have recently just purchased a 6119 6400 of him and waiting for it to arrive. I know it is not 100% original but I took the plunge anyway. Fingers crossed I have not been stung, but for what I paid I don't think I am going to loose too much if I have.Checking on other forums today it has been a bit of a mixed bag of what you get, some good some bad, just hope mines good.

Hey if you know exactly what you're buying then there shouldn't be an issue. Here's my take on this never ending topic - On one hand I get why purists hate/dislike this guy - his listings say "original" but the word can be interpreted many number of ways. Sometimes his watches have AM parts and that's not fully disclosed unless asked or maybe not at all. On the other hand, I think people should be 'informed' by guys like us AND THEN be left to choose. I do not subscribe to the idea of pushing ideals to others (i.e. a watch should be pure all original as it came from the factory). Others should be left to choose for themselves whether or not to buy a cobbled mint watch that may (or may not) make them happy. This choice should be their own. I say this because I more or less come from both camps. I am a car enthusiast who takes pride in restoring a late 60's Volkswagen as well as modifying the hell out of a 90's Mitsubishi into a fire breathing weekend racer. Both sides of the coin are okay in my opinion and though some people dislike the watch and car analogy, to most watch AND car enthusiasts it makes perfect sense. Live and let live.
