So I went to the safe, to grab my watch selection for tomorrow. Selected the Spork, brought it into my office. Checked the time, and felt a bit of panic rush over me.....the time/date was WAY off! Yeah, then a few seconds later, I realized it's not a quartz.

Another reason to only wear mechanical watches! Otherwise it is too confusing! Perhaps related to your story, I just received a three-pack of Seiko vintage watches off the bay, a 7019 and two 6106s, and the darn day/date quickset wasn't working on any of them!! Then I went back and read the sales descriptions, each of which mentioned that these use the "push the crown in" quickset method, where a patial push changes the date, and a full push changes the date and day. I had heard of this style, but I never owned one before! I sure felt stupid though... - Thomas

Yeah, then a few seconds later, I realized it's not a quartz. I think you love love your watches a little too much...Read this, laugh, and don't do it. haha! Have a happy Friday brother... Captain Koons: The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your birthright. He'd be damned if any slopes gonna put their greasy yellow hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable piece of metal up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the watch to you.

I fitted a hand winding 4R36 movement into a SKX a few weeks back. I went to put it on the other day and started by shaking it for 30s or so to wind it up before realising...
