Okay, I'm going to try to finally add one to the collection, and here is what I'm hoping for. I want the old skool square/rectangle design, but would like it to have atomic timekeeping. That being said, what model should I be looking for?

www.amazon.com/Casio-GWM5610-1-G-Shock-Solar-Watch/dp/B007RWZHXO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425318411&sr=8-1&keywords=casio+gwm-5610Casio GWM-5610 should do the job. Solar...atomic...44mm...about $90.00 at Amazon. Darn good watch. If you want it without the red accents you can try and find a GW-5600J...that's what I have.....they're all over the place price-wise as it is a JDM model.....I've seen them go used anywhere from $75.00 to $250.00 on Ebay. One difference is that the newer GWM-5610 is a 6 band function meaning it can pick up the atomic signal from six different beacons where the GW-5600J only does it from five.....it's not really an issue if you live in the USA. Here's my GW-5600J:

Trandy nailed it. No need to look any further.
But upgrade to this bracelet, it is awesome.
I believe the 2 top G Shocks are the GW5610 and the GW9400. I recently just sold my 5610 as it just lacked a few cool features that the 9400 has, such as instant stop watch from the home screen, and it wore a little too small for me.

I've owned mine for years now and it's fantastic. I like the original mid-80s G-Shock styling, the light weight, the snooze alarm (although it's too quiet) and most of all, the atomic feature. This is the watch I set all others by.

the bracelet from the GWM5610-1JF. That was from memory so double check. I think Chino sells it separately. It's an awesome bracelet - especially on this watch.

Here's a couple of photos from the Chino web site....it's on the negative display model 5610....I didn't see the bracelet listed for sale separately though. Cool looking bracelet....I'd be tempted to get one as long as the price didn't exceed the national debt of Bolivia.

Like others, I use mine to time my other watches yet hardly wear it. That could change give the renewed interest thanks to this thread. The strap/bracelet is comfortable. Interesting thing though, each link is connected to one another with springbars, so it's easy to remove a link for re-sizing.

but be sure to keep the links/springbars in the correct order.

You can find these bracelets on Ebay for anywhere from $129.00 to $159.00....or you can buy the entire watch with the bracelet for only $182.00 from Chino....go figure. I might buy one of the watches just to get the bracelet then flip the watch....I'm not a big fan of negative displays. EDIT: I'm so weak...I just ordered one from Chino.
