Good point. So it would need to be a structure more like Etsy or something. Nowwww taking this one step further could other people add the stock/parts to the site? I would love to see this advance and think that the major sellers out there would love the opportunity to escape the horrendous ebay price to a site that they control. We have the marketplace here already, just need folks to start giving more details in the postings. I know that's not really what we're talking about here, but it's certainly a good start. Also, I'd be more than willing to listen to suggestions as to how we can make it even better.

I think that's the only way you could make it successful. I don't think we could make a decent go of it if there is too much interaction. It needs to be a shopping cart, buy this, then pay, then notify the seller to ship kind of deal. I don't think we could make it worthwhile if there has to be an email exchange to buy something. For someone such as Stefan who has thousands of different parts for sale you either need a complicated setup or a single 'advert' style page that just points to a email address, phone number or evilBay account. The problem with complicated sites is you have to update them all the time where as an ad page will get the same results as a rule. You just need people to know your out there and maybe now and then when you get ultra rare parts you make a point of mentioning them on that page. Complicated is not always good when it comes to the world of the interflop. From my experience anyway. This is a friends website I knocked up for him years ago: www.theclockhouse.co.ukSimple but to the point. He gets as many sales from this page than he did for one that he was constantly updating. I think the domain name costs about £5 ($7.50) per year and the hosting $10 per month. Cheap and simple with hardly any interaction needed by the seller.
