Hi gang, I just bought a bunch of watches, including some higher end vintage Seikos, but I also bought my first real vintage Citizen. It is described as a 1961 "Citizen Deluxe", but I bought it because the dial looked so coo!! And of all of my new purchases, it is this one that I having the hardest time waiting for! :imok: I don't know anything about it, or the movement, but maybe Sweephand can fill us in!?!? - Thomas

That's a beauty Thomas. I was watching that one and was sorely tempted, but already had one on the way from Mr Saitama. Glad it went to someone who will appreciate it. I bet you're hunting out a shirt to wear with it even as I type this.

Lovely watch Thomas - it's not easy to find these in good condition. The Deluxe was Citizen's first really successful watch, first produced in 1958, it achieved over 100 million Yen's worth of sales I believe. Is there a serial number on the inside or outside of the case back? They are good quality movements, and in good condition they run very nicely - more about them hereMine just have to say hello : They often have nicely textured dials: And the 1959 'Para Water' version was Japan's first waterproof model: You must try and get the 'Super' version, that's a very classy watch for a night out. Thanks Sweephand, I knew you could help! I have this seller picture of the inside of the case-back: Pardon my typo in the original message, it was described as a 1961. - Thomas
