Arrived yesterday, Working but pulling the crown would not stop the movement. Conclusion, the tip of stem was broken off.

Hello WS After a lot of vintage 5 dx or 5 actus, I have finally upgraded a little my requirements and I will receive (hopefully) soon this 8306-9030 business-A, with it's very nice linen dial with a little patina and a serious jewels count of 30. I plan to service it by myself and I would like to get prepared as much as possible but I have some troubles finding the technical guide of this movement family on the Internet (830, 830X or 834X). I know this guide exists because it is quoted in this -excellent- blog adventuresinamateurwatchfettling.com/2016/04/30/hidden-depths-a-seikomatic-r-from-1966/The auto winding and oiling diagrams are my main concerns. So if any of you guys here have a copy and is willing to share it, I'll be very grateful

Sometimes, I go to YJ right before I go to bed. I set the search to "Seiko" and the filter to "Ending Soon". I just look at the stuff that is ending in the next few minutes to see if there is anything interesting I can pick off cheap. Normally, there isn't. But a couple days ago...
I found this pretty nice little black-dialed 7546-8000. I originally bid on it thinking it was blue...hey, gotta make a decision and put in your bid quick when it is ending in less than a minute! That is part of the fun! Black is better anyway. Don't know if it works, but it is a 7546 so my chances are good. Cost about as much as a decent lunch.
I also found this NOS 7559-6010. It works, but has some bleeding of the numerals around the dial due to age. Pretty cool. This cost about as much as a nice dinner and drinks for two. I have had many 75-series watches, but never a 7559.
Last, but not least, is the one I was most curious about. It is a 7T59-7A00. Watch looks nice, but is untested. Pretty cool looking today, IMHO, but this would have been the cat's ass back in 1991! From what I have read, this watch has a sapphire crystal (rare at the time), was designed by Guigiaro, and cost about $1100 new! I have always lusted after a 7A38-7030, but never wanted to spend $1200+ on a nice one. This watch has a very similar vibe to it...and a much more sophisticated movement. I have read the 7T59 movement is rather delicate, so wish me luck. Cost about as much as a nice dinner for two...NO drinks.

When one starts collecting Seiko watches at one point one hears about the 'Grand Seiko'. ...and one wants one. But they are expensive. And King Seiko are almost the same and they are much cheeper. And one already has a Grand Quartz. That basically is a Grand Seiko, isn't it? ...no, it isn't. So to make a long story short, I found an auction 'SEIKO automatic HI-BEAT watch used sellout' that nowhere mentioned the word 'Grand' or 'GS' and didn't name the movement as a 5645. It has been described as working and the seconds hand changed position between pictures. Here is one of them: After losing dozens of auctions by 500¥ this time my bid was 30¥ higher than the one of my rival, so it will be in the mail soon. 7dfe79adc2f0 What I find interesting is the back of it as it has no serial or case code: Thanks to my wife I learned that it is mentioning the 60th anniversary of the Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (second biggest oil company of Japan which was founded in 1911). So I guess it was a present the big bosses made to themselves or their customers back in 1971. Just wondering if you could order these with 'blanc backs' to leave room for inscriptions...

Wow. Thanks a lot. I was kind of expecting this as the inscription looks punched in/factory made and not engraved, but could not imagine that you could call Seiko and order watches with special case back.

Is there any chance the caseback doesn't match the rest of the watch? please send a picture of the inner side of the caseback. I'm curious.

After going through huangcjz's links I am pretty sure it is legit. thegrandseikoguy.com/2019/03/10/grand-seiko-models-not-appearing-in-catalogues/ has a picture of it near the bottom of the page. But I'll surely will report once it arrives. Today it has reached Zenmarket's warehouse, but it is the first item in the new package so it has to wait until some of the cheaper colleagues arrive for shipping costs to be reasonable.

Well I have not been buying very much for a long time ... more parts searching But stumbled across these while watching the Super Bowl The first is kinda a Unicorn The Pulsar Y513 7019 from 1980 I think First saw one of these back in 2014 on SCWF ... always like them And this one is one of the cleanest watches inside and our other than around the lugs... idiot scratches from band removal...i know they can be cleaned up with a little work... but still why did they do this...UGH But we will fix that Even has that Seiko 6308/7548 window bevel we all love The second one was bought for parts and honestly did not even look at the pics that close and next to his brother ....The Phoenix 6105 The Seiko Sportsmatic 7625 8233 This one is from 1968 this is definately a keeper Way too clean and pristine to make into parts.... So I have another new dress watch missing a proper band.... Very nice watch except for crystal and some bezel bumps and bruises It had the hands we all love too Beautiful Charcoal grey dial and lume is that creme color too and almost forgot about this little guy i got this last year before the last hospital stay.... i had it sat aside to make it for my Nephew's Birthday but that came and went... so maybe we can make it for his Christmas... i am not sure who makes it but the movement i am told is damaged... hands move all crazy when u try and do anything watch is like new.... it says Lucien Piccard Laser Matic so a movement search will be next for this little guy never worked on a Swiss Watch Well see what u think God Bless,John thank u for looking at these too

I have had a eye out for one of these for years.. It is an extremely rare Citizen Super Ace with the most unusual case back etching.. I am hoping that my eagerness for this white whale won't end in disaster.. I can see the crown and stem are missing, Please let that be it... Some info on it here Citizen Super AceCheers Henry
