As many here know . . . I have a thing for Seiko automatics and especially divers. I have some very nice ones but I've always had a thing for the 6105s. I should have sprung for one a few years ago when the prices were a bit more affordable for my budget. Well, I missed that boat! Fast forward to earlier this week and I happened to notice a really nice looking watch on ebay. Not a 6105 but quite the looker. The suspect . . . . a Dagaz Typhoon II. What a beautiful watch! I wasn't seriously thinking of buying it but I did put it on my list of items to watch (no pun intended). So last night, my wife and I were watching the TV and I happened to have my laptop open. She sees the picture and says "Oh that's nice". I told her it was "just a watch I'm tracking" so I showed her the pics. She said "get it". I hemmed and hawed and said it was too much money and that I already have enough watches. She then said "why not make it your anniversary present?" Since we are celebrating 25 years in July I said "OK' since I plan on getting her something really nice. So I went ahead and entered the bid amount and made her hit the "confirm" button. Got the email this morning that we won. It's 1 of 100 and I can't wait to see it in the flesh. Bad news is that once I check it out and make sure it looks OK and runs, I'll have to give it back until July. I can live with that as I've got plenty of others to keep me busy. So . . . . what do you all think?: Seller pics:

I've never owned one but I've always wanted one of the Dagaz watches. Both the Typhoons and the Tsunami's are sweet. Vintage look without the headaches. Very good hacking movements as well. Awesome sequence number as well!

That's a really nice watch, I like it a lot. Question is...since it's a limited release, will you actually wear it, or will it be a safe queen?

Looks like a winner.
I wonder why the seller had it on EBAY vs. the forums since it is specialty / collector type watch unless as most of us know everyone on the forums are CHEAPASS'

Granted, its not an impossible watch to find, but it is 1 of 1300 pieces.

Smart choice IMO....the original 6105 just did not do it for me so I sold it. But I wanted JakeB's iteration and got lucky. I chose mil style hands. The diver strap he provided was too long for my small wrist, so I install a new strap from George in Greece. The watch is a regular in the rotation group....you will be happy to wear it. Tis a nice weight, like the Tsunami. Just looked at yours and the whole kit is better than mine...you have the bracelet and a neat waterproof container included!! a note....Jake made the lug width 20mm and not 19mm as in the original 6105. by plant by blingmeister, on Flickr wave curl by blingmeister, on Flickr

Not bad SS! The crystal looks like it gets a fair amount of glare, but the watch looks to be an eclectic combination of many signature styles, and I love the "typhoon" graphic on the dial. So, I only give it a 99 out of 100! Enjoy! - Thomas

Wow that is one fantastic looker. I dig that Typhoon logo a lot. Knowing it's a Seiko deep down makes me want one too.
Congrats, wear it in good health and congrats on the impending 25 year anniversary.

Thanks for the input thianwong! I can't wait to see it in the hand. I do like the bezel on your watch (a bit more traditional) but overall, the watch seems like areal stunner!
