I have seen used or LNIB watches for sale on sites that have been offered for a long time and have not moved. The reason can be because they are a bad brand, awful model, bad color, no battery, slight damage, etc.
Being a compulsive buyer, I thrive on super deals... however, some persons get offended when they ask me to make an offer and I do make a low offer. Realistically, I could lose a lot if the watch is not as described. It has happened before and will happen again... but I am still on the prowl. I always tell the persons I offer what is the minimum price I can offer without them becomming offended. I just think... if I have some watches in my --never use-- shoe box, and it would be the same if they are there or get stolen today.... who cares...I will sell them at any price or even give them away... unfortunately I do not live in the USA so whatever gifts I make, have to be to my buddies... But if they did not pay even a dollar for them, more than likely they will not take care of them, a thing I sincerely do not like...
What do you all consider is a good term for a watch to be offered until its price starts a goin' down drastically.

I've been thinking about this lately, but from a different perspective.
Mainly what to do with some well loved affordables. Models which cost me maybe $200-250 new a few years ago. Aren't on the short list of forum favorites. Damaged more than regular wear and tear, but still a lot of life left in them. Not worth repairing because stock parts (bezel, crystal) are more expensive than the watch. Not worth listing because the vultures will just low ball me to death. At the end of the day, the watch is simply worth more than the $50-75 I'm lucky to clear on the sale.
