While trying to choose which watch to wear tomorrow and winding 5 or more (and looking at them and saying that is a lot of money tied up right there) and changing my mind as what to wear every 10 minutes I remembered the few watches I have sold and missed.
And none of them have ever surfaced to be seen again on the main Seiko forums in the last 5 years.
Most of them were unique and first ever Seiko MOD's and would be easily recognized if they surfaced.
Unlike stolen "masterpieces" of art which you would have to keep hidden or paper money which can be tracked by the serial number (OK watches can be traced by the serial numbers but that would NOT be the most distinguishable trait of the watched I have parted with) I wonder where they ended up. Hopefully as a daily wear for the new owners who somehow stumbled across the trade section of some unknown watch forum on the internet and fell in love with them and it was their perfect watch and they no longer felt a need to look any further or go ont he internet looking for another watch.
As an aside there was a Seiko Alpinist SSASS back in the old days that changed hands 3 times in 2 months on the old Network54 Seiko forum. I don't know if the watch was cursed or what have you but after the last sale the original owner posted he would buy ti back but it has not been seen since 2005. And besides Martback, the SSASS I was offered from a collector in Japan that was too nice for me at time 10 yeas ago, and mine I can't recall anyone even posting they own one let alone they have one for sale.
