OK Folks..... I Am, Getting Into It ...OK.

Aloha ,

I was cruising the Bay and came across this Seiko 6106-DX watch I think for a decent price. Now I am not a ....." Dress Watch "

 fan so much but I liked the looks of it.

Seller says it running strong and has been working fine. Seller says it has the ..... " Original Bracelet ", on it so maybe it is.

The seller's pictures are quite nice too, so I ...." Pressed The Button " , on it and got it.

You all might be surprised but I think I have enough divers for now .......... OK ?          

Maybe it is about time I get into ....... " Some Classic Stuff " , for a change.      The price was I think a good one for that

watch but I will see what I got in a few days.   ( Seiko Watch Calendar says its from ......May 1971.... )

NOW  The Question : 

Did I do fairly good on this watch purchase for the price of ....... $ 35.00  USD  / Free Shipping.

I want you to give me ... " Advice and Opinion's ", on it because I don't know nothing about these varieties of

watch's and need some help to get along now. I think I can clean it up and it be nice to have, well it will be different

for a change.

The 6106 is a nice movement with hacking. I recently serviced one and sold it to a coworker. It kept time within 3 s/day in 3 positions so they canbe tuned quite nicely. Now what you want to know: Did you get a good deal? I saw that watch, but couldn't determine whether the tan color was on the dial and whether it could be restored. If it is dial damage, I say you got a fair price if the movement is in good shape. If the dial is good, you got a really good deal IMHO.

I saw it and like you noticed the stain on it. But for that price I think it looks quite good.

Also ....... so this one hacks also. It should be here by said Monday or so, so I will post about that dial when I see it.

I saw it a few days ago and contemplated on buying a .... " Dress Watch " ........... 

But I think for a first purchased it be OK. Well I have to start some where so this was it.

For $35 you got a steal.  DX's command a premium and that one is a total looker on that original bracelet.

Agreed - a great 70's dress watch for the price of a modern disposable digital! What's not to like!?

I must say that was a...... Very nice ....   .... to your group on this Forum. I hope

I do well and also will be needing some help so I will be asking some question about what I might get too.

OK so I did pretty good on this and I like it too. Now the Divers are going to just sit for now because they are all

done so I am making some room for some projects.

But what variety to get too is the big question. I like the 6106's and some others too, but I am looking into what I

might like so it will take some time. I have a .....(6106-8100 also but missing the Correct Dial for it that is what is missing. )

I read all the postings of all what you have gotten and told myself.... " These guys can really find them ".

I been doing my homework on some of these and I think I can do some of them later if I come across them.

I have couple movements now for the ......" 6119's and 6106 and 6309's and I did them already but I

have to find the cases for what they are for and the proper dials for them.

It looks like be getting a few .......... " Watch Lots ", and probably find some too hopefully.

But now since you all have been teasing me with all of your .... " Beauties " , I said why not I can probably get a

few and even wear them even with the big wrist that I have. 

 But now I have a  .... " Little Black Dial Sea Horse "..... , I got from a friend and it is running great and done, but I posted about

it that I need to make sure that the case is the right one for it. The dial is a little worn but and missing the wording

( Diashock , and Water Proof and little faded ....6 O'clock Coding ) ....... a little but it is up and running great.

It has seen its days but I finished it and it looks a lot better then it did.
