After a long time of not having anything incoming, I now have 4 new pieces to add to my collection
There are 2 new mod projects that some of you might have seen last week plus 2 brand new ones. Impulse purchases in the past has taught me to be more careful in choosing the next few pieces to acquire and I always remind myself to stick to keeping 20 or less - they have to be worn and rotated otherwise they're sold. So on to the watch pics!
SKX007 Military Mod - I had to buy an entire watch just to get the dial. Parts include Jake's Superdome kit and a Murphy bezel. The best part for me of course would be the canary yellow airplane hand that I painted myself.
Found a nice IWC inspired kevlar strap and deployant to finish it off...
6309 Race Pilot - Well at least that's how I see this Reminds me of an airplane altimeter with a hint of 911 speedometer (I don't know why but it works for me). Best part again is the color matched orange seconds and bezel pip. I wanted to slap on a President for the 6309 but thought a NATO would work better at least for now.
Orient King Master - I've been wanting to get my hands on a vintage Orient. So glad this was released recently. I now have the best of both worlds, a vintage look on a brand new watch. All the history without the hassle of unfriendly 'watchsmiths.' The end links and bracelet are solid. Non screw down crowns which is not a deal breaker for me. The sunburst gray dial, Kanji day wheel, domed crystal, stiff internal bezel and cyclops make this a real knockout for me. This one was a no brainer. The bracelet is really comfy but I've also got 2 tropic straps on the side for this one.
Vostok Amphibia 090 - Last but not the least, this 090 matte cased Amphibia. I finally pulled the trigger on this one after being on the fence about it's build quality. Wow! What a nice watch! A quick research of how this watch was developed back in the 60's reveals that it was actually quite an innovation for a diver's watch (case design and component-wise). I can't stop staring at this tonneau case. The mesh came on as soon as it arrived. Many find the bezel on this one ugly. I find it quite period correct for this design and a breath of fresh air when compared to the usual sub or SKX bezel. This will not be my last Vostok.

Sorry for the crappy photos, I don't have time these days to take proper ones. Thanks for looking.
