The proper model # is the 003.... The watch is SOLAR powered, so.....were you wanting to know what kind of solar battery??? and this description if from an ad .. Still available for sales on this Seiko Spirit SBFG003 Atomic Radio Wave the watch that offers in black version comes with Hardlex Hardened Crystal, Stainless Steel Band, Overcharge Protection function, and many more. The SBFG003 also has S760 Caliber Solar Powered Quartz Movement.
I stand corrected...the 001 is the SS model and the 003 is the black version..

What type of battery does this model take? Got a line on an inexpensive one that ;just needs a battery'? It likely takes the same Lithium Ion rechargeable that the Eco-drives or the kinetics take. Ping yserv and they will surely tell you.

Perhaps battery is not the proper term, but I'm assuming there is a capacitor of some sort. What type of battery does this model take? Got a line on an inexpensive one that ;just needs a battery'? It likely takes the same Lithium Ion rechargeable that the Eco-drives or the kinetics take. Ping yserv and they will surely tell you. There is one for sale, but it's got charging issues. What's the reference on the back, I can get you any capacitor/battery you want. For peanuts. Not sure, I don't have it in my possession. Thanks, I'll have a look.

reading the manual, all it states is that the watch has a secondary battery...that is all! Then I found from another post that it is a panasonic battery. If I remember rightly, the caseback just gives the S760 code. I tried upteen times to google the movement but no capacitor/ battery name mentioned. There was one fellow in 2013 who had trouble charging his watch and was looking for the Panasonic one...I thought i had included it in the above message of mine.... FOUND IT! see this post....scroll down to see his photo of the battery... forums.watchuseek.com/f21/seiko-sbpg001-sbpg003-owners-thread-reviews-pics-info-387397-12.html
