The Seiko SNE107 is a budget diver, solar quartz and has been my beater for a over a year. Overall its a great watch with a classic Seiko dial and hand set with a Submariner-esq case and 3 o'clock crown. But then there's the bezel. Solid stainless, nice construction. But ass ugly shape of a starfish. Dave Murphy owns a machine shop in upstate New York. On the side he fabricates coin edge bezels that fit popular Seiko and Vostok divers. I had seen he decided to make his bezel to fit the SNE107/109 model. I contacted him to pick one up and here it is with a Dagaz insert. The bezel is designed to accept any insert that fits the SKX007 bezel with 38mm OD / 31.5mm ID. The bezel is very nice. Machining is very good. Snug fit to the case. Insert is a perfect fit. Do note that like his other bezels, the bezel is bi-directional and does not click. The only tension to the case is from the bezel gasket. The bezel action is very smooth and does not spin freely. Loss of the click mechanism is unfortunately, but as far as aesthetics are concerned, this bezel saves the watch.

I had a SNE107 a while back but flogged it. The Murphy bezel totally transforms the look in a positive way. The SNE is an ideal everyday watch with its quartz solar power, I might have to get another with a Murphy bezel

Not a big fan of the Murphy bezels. Bi directional and no click was the issue for me.
Great mod though - your looks great!

I think it looks great....looks like an entirely different watch....although I think I would prefer the single color black insert....simply outstanding.

That's really cool.
I always liked those even with the stock bezel due to their 6309-704X styled dials but with that new bezel it just pulls it all together.
Is that bezel insert sitting high in the new bezel?

Is that bezel insert sitting high in the new bezel? I agree the dial and hands are classic Seiko DNA. I have a feeling the traditional Seiko black bezel insert will be the winner here. yes, the insert on mine (light blue) does sit just a hair proud of the bezel. I'll have to ask the other guy how his stock insert is sitting. The bezel that Murphy installed on mine is still a prototype.
