I just picked these up from the original owner who said they were "collecting dust". First is a C359-5019 calculator watch from 1980. The second watch really needs no introduction, but is a 6309-7049 from 1982. Gave $120 for the pair. I put a battery in the C359 and it fired right up. Always wanted one of these! This must have been a Star Wars-level watch in 1980. The 6309 was set and running great when he handed it to me. Original strap has seen better days, but is usable.

Man $120 for the 6309 alone is a bargain, let alone with the other one and in the condition it's in!

What a score Aaron! But, your age is really showing with a Gold watch purchase........ Still a nice find though!

I honestly bought it more out of curiosity than anything, but I really have always wanted to putter around with one. I figured I was paying $100 for the 6309 and $20 for this. I also figured that a calculator watch betrayed my age well enough...gold or not! But now that I have disassembled, cleaned, resealed, and worn it a little, I kinda like it!

Great Scott! What a deal! Congrats! You're getting into Dasher territory there . . . . careful or I'll have to start calling you a "lucky bastard" soon!

I don't know how you all find these bargins on CL. In New York it is nothing but overpriced eco drives and replica watches (for auction)
Congratulations on a great find

I think you've got two solid wins there. I like the calculator watch. When I was a kid (I'm a child of the 80's and 90's), the cool kids all had the CASIO databank (because you had to remember phone numbers and all) or calculator watches. One kid even had the scientific calculator watch and that was super cool.
By the time I could get one, everyone had moved on to those hideous bloody TAG Heuer professionals that look like melted plastic. At the time I had my ADEC and 7006 and swapped between them. If anyone has a hoard of ADEC's let me know, I need a bezel.

I wore the calculator to work today for probably the first, last, and only time...and I actually USED IT!

The caseback on the 6309 was a mother stucker due to an incorrect (and ungreased) caseback gasket, and a caseback that was ungodly tight. Upon using the calculator function of the C359, I found that the lower two vertical segments on the third "8" from the right were weak. I removed the LCD panel, found a small hair or fiber that I removed, reassembled, and all is well. This caliber has a cool 'test function' where you can check the function of all of the digits on the display. Put the watch in setting mode, then press the right two buttons. All of the digits light up and the alarm sounds once a second. The really nice thing is that it doesn't affect any of the other settings (like the time).
