Cheers Tim. It's only rented, there's no way I could afford a property like this. The house is a 17th century half-timbered (black & white) & stone cottage located in a hidden valley, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It can be very grim in the winter.

My 'man cave' ... A rododendron that I ripped up and cut down to a stump when building the 'man cave' ; it was left leaning against the fence and revived itself freaked-out-smiley-emoticon A failed attempt to keep the birds from eating all my cherries. The crows would sit on the branch above and admire themselves in the mirror finish The cherry tree at blossom time... A cherry thief... The view from the deck of the 'man cave'... The lawn just before the first Spring cutting... A garden friend... Some Autumn colour...

Due to rabbits (domestic) having free range in our smallish garden whenever possible (I could happily kill anyone who keeps a rabbit in a hutch 24/7 rednono.giff) we have to grow things in pots with wire round them as everything else has to be unattractive to the bunnies and high level, so not many flowers. But we do have a pond. Let sleeping frogs lie, say I.

Mine's pretty big at just under an acre. Took a few pics of it yesterday & thought one or two of you might be interested. I wish I'd taken the photos a bit later in the day as all the colours look a bit muted due to the strong sunlight & just 24hrs later, a lot of plants are wilting. Very nice. I would very much like to build more of an English style garden, but the kids need their space to play and would just wind up tearing it up. I keep telling myself once I become and empty nester, I'll start working on mechanical movements and my garden...

A few years ago my wife suckered me into building her a "patio garden" because I wouldn't allow her to dig up a plot in our 1/2 acre lot. It initially started as a small single raised bed which eventually grew to completely surround both our decks. I'm in the process of gathering the materials to construct a 10'x10' pergola over the smaller of the two decks. One of the raised beds are maintained for vegetables and herbs The other is currently for flowers etc.
