So, it arrived today. We've established it's the incorrect dial for the model, but the next question - is it aftermarket/fake or a Seiko dial from the later model? All in all it's in pretty good nick other than the bezel ring so I'm not that upset by it, but would ideally like the correct dial. It's an aftermarket dial of the 6138-0020. The correct dial pops up once in a while for reasonable money.

Always on the hunt for 7009's, came across this. Reminds me of another Seiko I had...Can't be sure it on the up and up Reference is 7009-8580, I'm inclined to say it is but I'll leave it for more trained eyes

Not sure what’s going on with that dial but I kind of like it!

I just ahve not seen many two tone cases before...

This is the first time I've gone into a transaction *knowing* it could be a basket case, but I figured for the price (less than an aftermarket case, if they respond to the offer), why not! I almost bought a brand new SKX011 for $250+ recently, after all...

I double checked using Google (fairly reliable) as I don't have one myself...Your collection need not be working to show us what you have...

Okay, setting aside the wrong bezel insert and suspiciously-faded chapter ring... Is there anything else visibly wrong with this SKX011 here? Not that it probably matters too much as my pending offer has been ignored... Initially, I thought the bevel on the day/date window was off. But looked at a few authentic ones and other than the odd fading of the dial itself it seems real enough. Be patient and find a great one.

thoughts on this one? 1971 Lordmatic assumedly, but missing the "LM" emblem and says "automatic" rather than "Lordmatic"... Is this because it's a model made for outside of Japan? thanks in advance for any insight! Yes, the only ones I know of that have Lord Matic branding are Japanese and Italian market ones. U.S. market ones did not have Lord Matic branding, and I think most other countries didn't either.

Only thing I see wrong is the claim it's 'all stainless steel' when we can clearly see corrosion of the chrome plating. Otherwise it looks like a really nice steaming pile of merda

Chronograph hands are definitely wrong, not sure about the dial and insert. They almost look okay. Would be nice to see another angle

After studying some photos earlier in this thread I concuded that the dial is aftermarket (postion of "-6030R" not correct)

How 'bout this 6138-0011 dial and bezel insert?? Serial number dates it to a later model JDM (April 1977) which matches the dial style on the watch for that time. Painted sword hands are correct for the dial too. I know the crystal is wrong type.

Thoughts on this one, aside from the price and no movement photo? CLEAN WORKING 6139 6001I'm not looking to buy this one, but I want to learn more how to identify good and bad features on a vintage. For me, I think the case back matches the dial. Obviously some of the indices were replaced or relumed, but not all for whatever reason. The rotating bezel also looks pretty bright for the age - is it a/m? Lastly - are the chronograph hands right? I've seen a couple different ways of exactly how the chrono hands connect to the face, but it may be based on age or different variations. Thoughts? What am I not identifying? Thanks! Joshua
