Refinished case? These are the only shots front the seller that show the case lines and the quality is not that good but the lines look a little soft to me. imgur.com/a/40uX5abThat bezel looks aftermarket to me. Hands are also quite striking.

Would love to pick one of these up. They might be my favorite 6139.

Well the only thing why I think it to be aftermarket is the fact that if the body would be polished due to being worn out, you would see more wear to the bezel.
If the body is untouched then I could see bezel being that clean without any wear.
Hands could be striking just due to contrast between black and white.
But hard to say overall about the case or the bezel because the image quality is not too good.
EDIT: Didn't notice the front pic first. With that added hard to say. Maybe some more experienced people will chime in.

Someone will eventually be pissed with this, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114692038507?ul_noapp=trueI am sticking my neck out but apart from the very obvious AM parts I also think the case is AM but made to look worn. The caseback text looks engraved when its should be stamped. Then there's the Great Wave

The pictures are still slightly out of focus but the transition between the brushed and polished sections looks a bit smoothed to me, especially towards the lugs. imgur.com/a/AngEN0i

I always find trusting your gut instincts on a watch when you have doubts is best bet as you're usually right. A watch that is right just starts adding up the more you look at it even if the photos are a bit wank in the first place.

I have gone against my gut feeling few times in my life and everything went wrong when I did.

Maybe message the seller and compliment him/her on the description. About the only genuine thing about that is this - “Doubtful that you may have the opportunity to find another one of these at this starting price and in this condition.”

The 'bought 20 years ago' is also GRANDE BS cos I doubt they have been 2 years from India.
After a few message exchanges I learned the seller is retired and that in his working life (army) he met many people and became a very good judge of character and that he considered that I was a MORON and a KEYBOARD WARRIOR. Yet it was he that was sucked into buying 4 SUPERB ALL Original MINT Seiko's from a man with a tea towel on his bonce.
It also transpired that during his army career he was a good tracker and that he intended tracking me down and punching my lights out. I do hope I get to finish the Pogue before he arrives.

Maybe message the seller and compliment him/her on the description. I am pretty familiar with 7009's and google and I passed on to the seller that the case back is wrong for this model...as well as maybe the crown. I actually used all 2000 characters eBay allows in the message, explaining he might have been misled by his Dubai jeweler when he bought it 20+ years ago....also it was going to need a service...I did compliment him on his description, that took some thought and effort...kind of reminds me of messing with the calls I get from the far east telling me about Malware and google account. I'm sure they aren't paying for the calls but pirating someone's. I try and keep them on the line for as long as I can...same with someone going to save me huge dollars on my car insurance...

Ha! This one looks exactly the same as one I've seen on a FB seiko page. Gentleman claimed he just got it from his brother, 20 years in the drawer stuff...called me a liar and an uneducated simpleton for questioning the paternity of his precious. My contribution to this thread- currently on our favorite Japanese site. Took a bit of doing... Rob

Beware of ryan-h165 . He started by stating he was selling some of his 15 year old Seiko vintage collection which he purchased in the UAE. They were very obviously Mumbai Specials he was and still is buying in. He's now blocked me from messaging.

That’s a shocker! In my opinion - AM dial ( and a bad one ), insert, probably hands too. The text on the case back looks dodgy and restamped or maybe an AM case back. To my eyes the movement is probably the only genuine part. I’ve noticed a few UK sellers flogging 6309s full of fake parts. The dodgy case backs are becoming more common and seem to have fairly similar serial numbers.
