Been off the bike for nearly a month, working my butt to the bone 50-60 hours a week, and today for a couple of hours I got lost in the woods and it was glorious. I've got a nice twisty, rolling route that takes a good hour to cover to this very spot. I'll pull over here to take it all in and remember that everything we go through day in and day out is simply bullshit. The real reason for living is to enjoy the ground we ride on, whipping through the curves carved through hillsides, with rays of sun burning through the leaves of the canopy, feeling the air change temperature and pressure as you thunder down a hill, bearing down on a poor defenseless rabbit hoping he jumps out of the way just to frantically maneuver around him as his dumbass double backs into your path.... I haven't felt that alive in months. This is why I ride...

Always good to do a mini road trip :-)
