7009 was the 7S26's Dad. It went everywhere. It was a small re-hash of the 7006 with push set day/date. 7006 doesn't have quickset on the day. On the 7S26, they moved the keyless works to the train side so they could fit in quickset day/date that didn't need a complex setting lever. The orange thing is a 7006. Hey small , I’m pretty sure the orange dialled one is a 7009. Will it be a xxx9 case though? I'm guessing no to the XXX9 case ever showing up anywhere but the sates. While it "might happen" I limit my ebay searching to US only. And i'm betting even money the orange dial's a 7006? There are several in that bunch I dig...but i'm staying focused...

Yes the 7009 movement is world wide but the cases ending in 9 (8th place) were North American distribution. Idea being I could possible collect an example of ever North American Seiko with the 7009 movement, I think there are going to be no more than 45 different cases not counting doubles of Gold or Stainless or different dials.

You’re right small . 7006 8020! Interesting is that many 7006's share the same dial and case code numbers. I like the orange and blue very much "Chicago Bears" colors. Yet the lack of frame around the date leave the dial a touch flat...But if it came up for sale at the right price??? NO, must stay focused...

Minute hand is in the back. It's missing the second hand though. I do have a few hand sets for these around somewhere. What’s this one? Looks very interesting. Missing minute hand?

I have several 7006s, but I much prefer a 7005. The 7006’s lack of a quickset day bugs me. Does the 7009 rectify this?

I have several 7006s, but I much prefer a 7005. The 7006’s lack of a quickset day bugs me. Does the 7009 rectify this? 7009 has the date quick set, and the day is set by pushing the crown. Pretty cool. As for the 7006 I don't much mind the day not being quick set. I image if it was an everyday wearer and only watch you'd only need to change the date for the short months and quick set would come in handy for that. The 7009's are worn for years without anyone ever pressing in the crown (no need to) that some of those I have gotten are so full of DNA they won't push in. Seller will sometimes list this as being unable to "quick set" the day because they don't know how...or its been so long they assume its broke!
