A couple weeks ago, I scored THIS one. Very nice example, on a Z199 as a nice little bonus. Well, for the past week, I've been watching THIS one. It's a nice watch, but typically the non Suwa dials, don't bring the same $ as the more desirable Suwa's. This one sold for almost $100 more, did I just get lucky...or am I missing something?

Were the titles significantly different?
Any low or zero-feedback bidders?

Looks like you're missing out on an overpriced watch with a funky minute hand.

Oh, THAT seller. He's a super shady guy who works very hard to make sure his stuff goes up in price. If it sells for too little, he "loses" it, and then relists later. This happened to me when I won a 6309 off of him for a great price. I made a post about here it here, a "beware of 8868hwh" post. Super super shady. He also pads his profits by adding on bogus "handling" charges - $18 shipping for First Class within the USA? Yeah, right. In that auction that you are talking about, note the high number of bids by a zero-feedback bidder, who, surprise surprise, has made 100% of his bids only with that seller. What the heck is up with that do you think... He's another person who's figured out Time_Classic's formula for profit. He also does crap like list the same watch twice, simultaneously , with two different prices. I wonder why he might do that. He's doing it right now.

Yeah, that's the guy...It's pretty obvious what he's doing, very frustrating that the bay does nothing about it.

Seller's a scumbag, but the price doesn't surprise me.
The "Suwa vs non-Suwa" thing seemed to make more of a difference a few years ago when nice original 6309s were much more common. But now that the supply has tightened up a bit and demand has increased, the differences in terms of price between these two variations has narrowed.
The Suwa dial is still more desirable to the purist, but it's getting to the point that enthusiasts are beginning to realize a really nice non-Suwa 6309 is still a really nice 6309.
Not the world's best deal, but a fair price for an excellent unmolested 6309 with it's original strap. And I hope the seller uses the funds to buy a pistol to put in his mouth.

There aren't a lot of people who would look at this watch below and say "nah, it's a non-Suwa. Pass.".
