This is my 4006-7001 which was a gift from Lew Brown... My personal opinion is the the 4005/6 is a mid tier calibre. The movement is better finished than counterparts in other calibres form the same period. I believe these watches were also priced in the mid tire category when they were new. They are excellent time keepers and the mechanical alarm is pretty effective at doing what it is supposed to

Two for me: I believe the blue one to be an all original 4006-6060 bought from Jose Sotto "Watchcooking". The Silver one is .....er.... a not quite so original 4006-6031 bought from everybody's favourite bodger Beejoo4. Nuff sed ! Bought before I knew better . To be fair it works fine, though it arrived with half a movement retaining ring which jammed the movement.

Have seen contempory brochures showing Bellmatic as the most expensive offering in the lineup. The watchmakers with classic training at the Rolex school in Austria (the ones I have met anyway) all rave about the great design. Cheers Phil

I gotta follow Rod's two belles? Awww, man....
This one is the day-only version, the 4005-7000
This one is the "funky bell" in my opinion:
This one is the "no jewels text on dial" bell:
This is the "original bell" - like Rod's but not as rare:
Another Business Bell - these are pretty hard to find:
And then the mutt of my pack - your standard gold-colored bell:
I love Bell-matics - I think they're cool. The one bell I have yet to track down is a 21 jewel bell. Saw one go for under $50 on the 'bay, nearly had a coronary...

Here is mine, again like Peter, a gift from Lew Brown. And I agree with Phil's comment that during the 70s, the Bellmatic was more expensive than the diver 6105!

Phil's watch doctor is correct... vs Along with everything else; this calibre beats at the leisurely pace of 19,800 bph which means it will last a little longer if regular service is not maintained.

I have a couple of the 21j versions. This is one. The 21j version of the 4006 is always found in an earlier watch. This one is from October, 1967. Been ages since I saw one for sale.
