This came in the mail today. I ultrasonically cleaned the bracelet and hand cleaned the DNA and grime off the bezel crevice and nooks on the case back. Case has never been polished. Bought it from a guy who said he got it at an estate sale.

I've got two extra links. I woke up Sunday morning at 5:30am and could not go back to sleep. So I grabbed my phone and perused my eBay 6139 bookmark for new listings. This beauty was on top of the pile with a best offer. It looked darn near new. The lume was perfect showing a little shrinkage and patina on the indices. It already had 8 watchers. The seller is in CA. I'm in NJ. I figured what the heck, I'll make an offer. You know, impulse. I don't have one. He's probably sound asleep and someone will buy it outright. I knocked 10% off the asking informing him of that and that I'll pay immediately. I felt it was fair and brought the price under $500. There was one competing offer. Someone as nuts as I was, was up at 5:30am or earlier making offers on a watch Probably one of you jackals! 5 minutes went by and the seller agreed! This guy has insomnia I thought. I immediately paid for it. He sent me a nice note saying he's been wearing the watch for a few weeks and it's working perfectly. True to his word, everything works great and ticks like a kitten. I have a little trouble believing the bracelet is an original H link cause it's near flawless but has the correct stamping on the clasp and looks/feels like my others.
I'm pretty stoked about it. Thanks guys.

Initially I thought that this might be an assemblage of parts, but I think it is legitimate. Just an uncommon variation.

Thanks for the nice replies. I'm wearing at work today and she's keeping great time. I'm stilled pleased given the price, condition, and proper functionality. Usually I immediately service my new pieces, but since this is doing so well, I'm going to hold off and save the money.

Since I have been in a blue mood I picked up another 7009 (surprise) 8599. In the package with it was this darling Elgin Auto! I've messaged the seller to see if it was a mistake or a gift, I've not gotten a reply. That said I hope I don;t because I just love the font of these numerals! Even thought I'm not sure if its mine I tried to take the back off to spy the movement and it won't budge! I've already removed the possibly original strap... No wear through and some patina starting to happen n the "gold Tone" This has got to be from the late 50's early 60's by the design. A quick scroll over at the bay and I don't see any listed or sold....

Woah, nice surprise. I remember buying my 777 and the seller threw in a gift for me, an O&W diver that needed a service. Still one of my favourites.

No Swiss-made Elgins are older than that. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elgin_National_Watch_Company

That Elgin is a little beauty.
Before the Swiss dumped so many poor quality watches on the world market and killed the US makers, companies like Elgin, Illinois, Hamilton, Waltham and and others were still able to produce fine watches and movements. Examples like this deserve restoration or at the least preservation.

Son of a gun it was a mistake need to send it back although I asked what they needed for it...Just in case its in my price range (cheap) and they can't work it out with the original buyer....

Lucky purchase from ebayUK. Seller had it listed as 'Non working seiko dive watch, propably needs new batteries. Also depth meter not working'. Did not need batteries but started running as the oscillating weight screw was loose and the ratcheting metal fingers under the bezel were bent so that was an easy fix too. Looked pretty scuffed in the pictures but only few small dings on the case, bezel and glass but otherwise in great shape. Thought this might have been manifactured 2006 but as it has type-C 7s26 so looks like it's 2016. Also came with a really nice original seiko silicon strap that the new turtles come equipped with. Definately the most comfortable seiko strap I've ever tried. Anyways couldn't be happier as skx173's are pretty hard to find here in europe for a decent price and been looking for one for a while.

Either the best or worst Citizen repair lot ever purchased. Wish me luck Casio AW-200. On a quest for the complete set of this module. 5 down. 2 to go Casio AW-210 World Time. A rare model I've been after for some time. Also bought an AW-21 white dial as a movement donor if this one doesn't work $22 for this piece of junk all because I need the case back for another project
